I can't think of anything bad to say about this kit, which makes two cute little puffer fish in different colors. It's actually quite nice for kits of this type; the vendor appears to have actually taken some time and care with it. It has a little bit nicer, more upscale feel than some of the other crochet kits I've ordered in the past. The best part is the instruction book: one of the nicest I've seen in a kit like this with plain English explanations that are understandable, BIG clear photographs, and they've actually diagrammed some of the photographs to show the exact points they are talking about. They also explain the wrong vs. right side of the stitching—you'd think this would be basic stuff, but so far these are the only guys that have bothered to mention it! In the pattern instruction section, they actually diagram out EXACTLY where to place the extra details on the main body. For a beginner, this is very useful stuff.You only need to learn a magic ring, single crochet, double crochet, and increases and decreases to do this project. A rank beginner can do this entire pattern totally from the written instructions, but yes, there is video accessed via QR code if you get stuck.This is a high quality beginner kit that would make a really lovely gift for someone, but I'm keeping this one for myself! It's fantastic.

While this crochet kit is absolutely adorable and doesn't take an advanced knitter to accomplish, this is for someone with intermediate skills. My grandmother taught me to crochet many years ago, but it is a skill I haven't used in some time. I found this kit on amazon and was super excited to receive this and introduce my daughter to the world of crocheting. Had I not had some basic understanding of crocheting I don't believe I would've been able to do this cute little puffer, and it was absolutely much too hard for my daughter. The included instructions left much to be desired, but the video tutorials were helpful. Even still, I struggled some to get this finished. All in all, an excellent product at an excellent price, but definitely needs to be targeting intermediate skilled sewers and not beginners.

This kit has everything you need to learn to crochet and make cute little stuffed animals. I was going to do this with my granddaughter but I realized she is too young after I received the kit. I watched some of the short teaching videos that take you through step by step. Very clear instructions that can be rewatched many times when first starting out.

I wanted to love this, but didn’t. I think the packaging is cute and comes with everything you need. But, the instructions jumped all over the place. I would not recommend this for a beginner, unless you want to spend a good junk of time looking for the proper ways to start this project because the instructions are not very clear.

I have not crocheted in about 20+ years. And back then all I did was straight row, single stitches.This kit has helped me learn about other stitches and better techniques. However, the booklet has the pictures switched and labeled incorrectly. (Picture 1, is actually for instruction 2, etc.) If it weren't for the video tutorials that they also have available, I would have been stalled out right from the start. Especially without any experience at all. I had the benefit of some muscle memory, even if the stitches were new to me.The videos could be a little easier to work with - I have to rewind a lot and watch a few times to really learn. I wish they showed the pattern wheel one video earlier because that would have helped my understanding of what I was doing in the previous step. I also which they included the pattern wheel in the book!I've had to undo a bit of my work while I've learned, so I'm not very far into making the puffer.I'm really pleased by the amount of materials and tools that were in this kit. It only lost the star because of the booklet.

My 10 year old daughter had been asking for a crochet kit. When I seen this was for beginners I thought it would be perfect for her to try. I don't know if it's just us, but the instructions aren't very helpful or clear. The instructions are not step by step on how to make this whale and no matter how many times we tried finding it on youtube we had no luck. This in not for beginners and again has no step by step instructions.

An experienced crocheter will enjoy being able to complete a small project quickly.The kit arrived neatly packaged with everything neatly organized. The kit designers thought of everything so you don't need to spend time deciding what you need. They even include a scissors, which is the perfect touch that's right there when you need it. My favorite is the hook. It's much more comfortable and easier to use than standard ones.I also love this yarn. As a beginner you sometimes have to take out your stitches and try again (mistakes are part of learning). This yarn has a knit cover so doesn't fray. It also allows you to clearly see each stitch so you know where the next goes.I found it easy to do the project. thanks to the magic ring already being started. The clear step-by-step illustrations and videos demonstrate every step of the way. It's so much fun to see your adorable creation come to life.Overall, I highly recommend this crochet kit to anyone looking for a enjoyable and creative project. Whether you're making these adorable puffer fish for yourself or as thoughtful gifts, this kit is a delightful, satisfying experience from start to finish.

Another great kit for kids who enjoy making things with their hands. My daughter always has a lot of fun working with craft kits and this one is great for getting them started in crochet. Nice as a gift as well!
