It's great!
This Ubiquiti mesh AP is a beast! I picked up this open box and it was practically brand new. Signal strength is amazing, even across long distances and through obstacles. Setup was a breeze with the UniFi controller. If you need rock-solid Wi-Fi coverage over a large area, this is the way to go. Just be sure to check the return policy carefully since it's open box.

Powerful Enough to Shoot Down Birds in Mid Flight
I installed this at our church to replace a 5-year-old single-band outdoor unit (the style with two goal posts on top). It was a fairly quick installation because all the wiring was in place already; I just had to mount the bracket to the side of the building with four screws in plastic anchors, and change out the POE injector inside from the old-style 24-volt unit to the newer (and more standards-compliant) 48-volt unit included with this access point.Once I plugged everything in, the light on the front of this unit came on, and when I fired up the UniFi management software it immediately detected and "adopted" this unit.Aside from being dual-band (which helps tremendously with capacity for users), this unit also seems to emit a very powerful signal. It is mounted on the side of a building facing a courtyard enclosed by three other buildings, and all of these buildings get an excellent signal from this unit. We have three other UniFi access points on the campus, including two of the original single-band style, and all seem to work well and play nice together. We have also recently installed a CloudKey to allow me to administer the units remotely.I was surprised by how big this unit is, especially by comparison to the unit it replaced, but I suspect the main reason is to accommodate a more robust antenna system inside the housing. It certainly looks impressive, and the church staff members who were complaining about the need for better wifi coverage no doubt were gratified by the size. More importantly, their wifi experience in the various church buildings has improved, so they are happy.

Everything I had hoped for!
This is the first time I had added a device to my existing UBNT network since all of the software upgrades. I simply plugged in to the switch using PoE, opened the app on my iPhone and the system immediately asked me if I wanted to adopt the new access point. Very well done and an amazing improvement from the old days of the hit0and-miss adoption routines. Well done Ubiquiti Networks! The outdoor coverage is amazing! Every bit of the coverage advertised.

Reset button breaks too easily. Effective when in use
We installed this outdoors to cover a certain area and it does a good job. Had to use the reset button due to a new setup and it broke almost immediately. Lots of others on the internet with the same issue having to take to opening the thing up and trying to fix it. If it's no longer under warranty, what else can you do but try? Shame they make such a weak point for the reset button.

Ubiquiti never disappoints
I purchased this as an outdoor wifi extender for an events business. Works great and gives great coverage. Setup was a breeze as most Ubiquiti products are. I didn't get a chance to accurately measure how far out the signal goes from this thing but I believe I walked about 150' out and still had full signal. Would buy again if I needed to.

Covers outdoor very well
We needed this for my mother-in-laws place outside and it works great. It covers about 300-400' with tree cover and small hills. I am sure it would go further if no obstructions. It also brings a strong signal into the family home next to her about 150 feet away (indoors). So I was very impressed. I mounted it about 15' high. If we could have gone higher, I would think the coverage could have been further given her terrain.

Better than a UAP-AC-PRO and it is Omnidirectional.
If you need omnidirectional and speed, this is it. I mounted mine indoor in a central location. It penetrates better than the UAP-AC-PRO, but still does not penetrate thick exterior walls in a busy signal noise area. It has a really clean look on a white wall. The LED light is not adjustable. It is on/off only and it is bright.

Maybe a lemon. Very poor power output
I have a lot of Ubiquiti in my home and have always been very happy with the products and their performance. however this UAP-AC-M-PRO failed to deliver. Testing the unit on my shed some 60 feet or less to my deck the signal on the deck with a signal between -72db to -70db. This is only marginally better than what I get from my UAP-AC-PRO inside the house through several walls! I played with both channel settings and also forcing the power output to default to maximum rather than automatic but only got marginal improvements. There is no way this unit would ever give 600ft range Walking around my yard in direct line of sight no buildings I never got better that a -68 dB signal strength. For reference the maximum distance I could be form the AP would be 120ft. The SFT Store charges a 20% restocking fee on returns which I will argue as this unit I consider to be faulty or not performing as advertised. For a $180 AP this is the worst performing AP I have purchased.
