There's nothing to disparage about this solid piece of gear. It's a pleasure to use every day and comes highly recommended. Some highlights include: It's adjustable so you can set the depth limit if you like. It's heavy with a strong plate that rests on the portafilter housing and therefore remains firmly planted when pushing down (the lightweight plastic tamper that came with my espresso machine would easily rock sideways under pressure, flipping coffee all over the counter). Best of all, the large wooden bulb handle is super comfortable and easy to use as it rests against the palm while pushing down. It's surprisingly well designed and quality gear yet affordable.

I'm pretty pleased with this tamp. I was looking for something aesthetically pleasing and was spring loaded. I like this style of tamp because it's kind of impossible to tamp at an angle since this sits on the basket. The wood handle is nice, and it's not too difficult to adjust the tamp height. I haven't used it enough to see whether it drifts up and down with use, but so far I'm happy

Nice weight and handfeel, but the amount of depth adjustment is deceptively small. At the upper reaches of the adjustment scale, the tamper base lowers at all. I had to screw the adjustment ring almost all the way down to get sufficient depth for the spring to be effective. I also found the adjusting ring to be less smooth in operation than tampers with internal threading for that purpose (having compared nine similar tampers on Amazon). I suggest looking at the Pusee.

Does the job well. Good, heavy construction. Good price point. Why pay more? Why did you pick this product vs others?: Better price.

I LOVE this tamper. One of the biggest issues I had was getting my coffee puck leveled in the porta filter, this took care of that and my pours have been so much better since I have it. If I had to nitpick on this, it'd be that the steel circle that tamps the coffee is very thick, I suppose intentionally to make sure there's enough space between the coffee and the head, but it makes tamping the single dose basket a bit tricky, but it still works wonder with those as well.

Quality of finish is high, and it looks great, but spring is weak, definitely not 30 pounds of pressure. Not sure if I got a faulty one, but I also ordered a few other tampers and this was so weak I could push it down with my index finger! Definitely not the right pressue.

Works perfectly with my Gaggia Classic Pro E24. This is my favorite coffee gadget. I like the sping tension and the depth adjustment. It also leaves a nice concentric pattern on the top of the puck aiding in even extraction of the coffee.

I pretty much use this with just a cpl mm of tamping depth, as for my machine and portafilter, the thickness of the tamping plate itself is pretty much the ideal depth for my low-pressure machine. In fact if I don't put a filter screen on top, it's tamped too far and my machine can't supply enough pressure to extract anything! This is just because I have a really old and basic espresso machine. I'm sure once I upgrade to a nicer machine with more pressure, this tamper's adjustable depth will be much more useful. Regardless, having proper tools for my morning espresso has elevated my extractions by an incredible factor! The weight is nice and seems to be quality built. I love the black and walnut style, fits great with my espresso bar.

Ich nutze den MORLS-Tamper jetzt seit gut drei Monaten und bin restlos begeistert. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, der Griff aus Holz liegt super in der Hand und wirkt sehr edel. Der Tamper selbst hat genau das richtige Gewicht und macht das Andrücken der Kaffeepucks zum Kinderspiel. Besonders gefällt mir die strukturierte Oberfläche der Basis: Der Druck wird gleichmäßig verteilt, was man sofort an der Optik des Pucks sieht - schön eben mit einem sauberen Muster. Ich hatte vorher oft Probleme mit Channeling, aber seit ich diesen Tamper benutze, ist das deutlich besser geworden. Der Espresso läuft jetzt gleichmäßiger und schmeckt intensiver. Auch das Zubehör wie die Tamperstation ist durchdacht. Alles bleibt sauber und ordentlich. Für alle Home-Baristas eine absolute Empfehlung!
