Pro Select Solar Crate Canopy, Protective Dog Crate Cover

This cover was a blessing to have this summer while camping at the beach. I bought 3 but only used two. I used one on my pop up camper over the king size bed were I was sleeping and the other to cover my vehicle, which is a black pick up truck. I had some dry goods store inside and didn't want them overheated. I ordered the 10x 12's I was able to cover the entire sleeping quarters and it was enough to drape over the side and give me privacy since I was right next to the gangplank that led over the dune and there was a lot of people walking by early in the morning and late in the evening. It averaged 94 degrees and this kept the camper at the outside temperature as well which is saying something since normally the heat would bank down from the hot roof and it would be suffocating inside. It also allowed the air to flow through very nicely which I was doubtful of initially but when the wind would blow there was a nice breeze that would come through this cover. There wasn't any shade and there were no utilities since it was the National Park and everyone was dry camping (or you needed a generator which I did not have) it was sure nice to be able to escape the noonday sun (it was literally too hot to be on the beach, the heat coming off the sand at noon was torturous!) and stretch out and take a nap in the camper under the cover and my O2 cool battery fan that help supplement when there was no breeze. This also let me cover my truck and it covered the windows a good bit so I could crack them but the plentiful flies that were everywhere did not come into the vehicle. It also maintained the vehicle temperature at roughly 97 degrees which considering the outside temperature was 95 I thought that was pretty impressive. granted it was hot regardless but when there was no shade to be found anywhere it was like having a portable shade tree with me I highly recommend these products. It weathered one severe thunderstorm and two more rain events with no wear tear indicated. Because it allows the air to flow through it made hardly any noise when the wind was blowing and also seemed to remain secure unlike a tarp that I've used in the past which flaps and also catches the wind and has torn loose during some of the thunderstorms that can crop up.UPDATE: It's been three years I have used these covers and they are still doing great! I use them often as a truck cover when traveling and visiting. I camp a lot while on the road and have perishables that would be affected by the extreme heat that could build in a black vehicle. Since I need them to be easy to get on and off I often just use them to cover the windshield and trap the corners in the front doors, the rest I pull over the cab (and top carrier) and secure on the sides of the bed with some very sturdy magnets that I purchased here on AMAZON. This makes it super simple to take on and off when I want to go somewhere. I so appreciate others reviews and suggestions, which is why I took the time to write this in hope it helps someone else :)

I'm already in love with this thing and I haven't even gotten to use it for its intended purpose yet!I bought it to drape over my (black) Nissan Rogue with the windows cracked to keep my two poor dogs from overheating while they were waiting their turn to work at Canine Search and Rescue trainings. I try to park in the shade, but that's not always possible, and they are escape artists, so it's not like I can leave the windows rolled all the way down. The lady who runs our local volunteer K9 SAR program had one of these, and told me she'd bought it on Amazon.I bought it on Wednesday evening, and it arrived on Friday afternoon. We took it camping with us on Saturday (yesterday), and used it to drape over our tent (a little 2-man Eureka-brand tent that we got on Amazon, too), and it was a little big for this, but using the grommets on the tarp and some bungee cords, we kept it from flying off in the wind. It kept the tent nice and cool even in the warm afternoon and early morning sun, both of which can really roast you inside that tent.I also used it to keep the temperature of the car down while we visited with my parents at their house for about three hours. I rolled the windows of the car down, shut the front doors over the draped mesh tarp, and let it sit out in the hot, Wyoming sun. Got in later, and the car was seriously about 15 degrees cooler than it would normally have been.I can't wait to use it at SAR training, but I can tell you for certain, it does what it's made to do, and this size is great! Like I said earlier, I have a Nissan Rogue, and this drapes nicely to cover 3/4 of the car length-wise while basically covering wheel-well to wheel-well over the top. I'll post a picture later to give everyone an idea of its size on my car.

Love thst the air flows through and you can still see through it yet the sun is deflected. A must have for outfoor summer events! Keeps car cooler and protects against UV damage too!

I purchased this small solar canopy either to cover a crate or my car. I have purchased 12’x12’ solar canopy at the same time. When we went a dog trial to Los Angeles area on late in November, it was high 70°F’s to low 80°F’s. The canopy provided nice shade but it still allows wind through, so we felt really cool enough. My wife, I and my dog won’t be able to stay in the car from 9 am to 6 pm without the solar canopy. I fully recommend the solar canopy for outdoor activities. The 12'x12" is really good to cover your minivan, and 6'x12' is good to a crate or small sedan.

I bought this last summer in preparation for a road trip from Washington State to Purina Farms, Gray Summit MO for dog events at Purina Farms. The 12 by 20 ft was super for my 2015 Tahoe....with lift gate open there was enough drape to provide a cool seating area under the lift gate as well. This product cooled the vehicle by about 15 degrees...It covered the roof, hood and all windows...I have since used this solar cover at several other dog events to cover an old Dodge Caravan Conversion van as well. worked great. The grommets are perfect size for bungee cords and spaced perfectly for very windy conditions.....

I love this canopy and would recommend it for anyone who keeps there dog in a kennel in their vehicle. I'm in a Schutzhund club and we keep our dogs in our vehicles (I have a Suburban) while we train and this creates a nice shade over 3/4 of the truck to keep it from heating up too much in the summer. I live in Vegas. Enough said. Definitely worth the price but -1 star because there should be more grommets on the long side.

Excellent for heat reduction, wish it was a bit more durable. The canopy comes with a finished and grommeted edge, but don't make the mistake of putting much stress on the grommets, as our canopy is experiencing a little separation between the sun block material and the finished edge.As long as you keep that in mind and use it with care, this product should provide significant heat reduction for whatever is beneath it.

Fantastic item. It does the job great. Large enough to throw over half of car or boot as canopy, or over kennel/run. The little eyelets are ideal - I store the canopy in the bag provided with strings attached at each eyelet so I can tie a piece of small round rubber dog toys to act as weight so it doesn't get blown out of place... and the rubber does not scratch the car in anyway.Love this item... pity I wasn't aware of it sooner.If you have pets, or even children or adults who need a bit of shade - I urge you to buy this item to keep them cooler. You could I am sure even hang or tie to branches to have a make-do shade in the garden, or attach to side of caravan for outside space in the shade.I even threw it over the mid- front car when grocery shopping as dogs were in the car (very early mind - I never leave my dogs in the car when it's hot) one morning - it was warm but not hot - but you never know when it can become hot quickly this time of year even early in the morning. It did the job great - the car was nice and cool in fact when I got in. You can hang the canopy over car and stick the remains inside car and shut the doors (missing the eyelets of course) - so no need for weighing the canopy down or fear it might get stolen or blown away.Thanks.
