Nice scale
This scale seems to be working well for my purposes. I use a lot of liquid and granular lawn chemicals that need to be weighed out accurately before going in my backpack sprayer. I have checked it's measurements against several other scales I have handy and the numbers match closely. As far as letting it warm up for a half hour like the manual suggests, I just turn it on while I'm getting everything set up and then go ahead and weigh my chemicals. I also really like that it has a glass enclosure that prevents wind from affecting the measurement.

I want to like it - it’s a very nice full-featured lab balance, but mine doesn’t work!
This 500-gram version of the balance has two very clear and easily read displays, USB and RS232 interfaces, and glass cover with sliding glass panels. When I power it up the display goes through a startup sequence ending with the top segments of the LCD numerals all active. Thereafter, it doesn’t take any measurements. The manual says that you should do a calibration as part of the out of box setup, and the unit is supplied with a 500-gram mass. It seems counter-intuitive that the balance would be completely inoperative before calibration, but I tried the calibration anyway – hoping that would get it measuring. The procedure is to let the balance warm up for 30 minutes, then turn it off then on, hold the TARE button until it goes into calibration mode. Then, the display flashes the value of the mass it expects you to apply (in this case, it’s the full 500-gram limit of the balance for a single-point calibration). That all seems to go well until I put on the weight. You can see in the video that the display just keeps flashing 500. This goes on indefinitely. I’ve tried it several times and I made sure the balance was level and stable. I tried waiting various lengths of time throughout the procedure.I did contact the manufacturer and they’ve been responsive via email, so I held off on giving this a one-star review for a couple of days so that I could try the calibration several times. There is also a linear calibration mode where you’re supposed to supply a number of different masses. The procedure is similar to the single-point calibration, but the balance is the supposed to ask you for several different weights. It never got beyond the flashing “500.000 g” when I tried this. It is behaving as if the load-cell (sensor) is just totally dead, and maybe that's what's happening!Had this been a regular purchase rather than a VINE voice review, I would be returning the unit.It seems like a nice balance; maybe other people will have better luck than I have. I will update this review if the manufacturer can help me to resolve the problem.

Very tricky to get setup and not consistent
Must have missed it in the description but we were expecting more cables rather than only a power cable. Oh well, we’ll be using around the office and lab anyways without the need to be connected so it’s not an issue. We did receive some random cap piece that looks like some paint was on it so not sure what or where that goes. Even after a calibration, the scale will always pick up random weight amounts and display them regardless of the doors being open or not but pressing the TARE button does clear it. Hopefully we don’t have to wait 30 minutes before every single use as that’s not ideal. The 500 g weight always picks up for a slightly different amount just shy of or above 500. So we aren’t sure if there’s an issue with the sensor like another reviewer mentioned or something we are missing. The built in level is a nice touch and you can adjust the feet in case your surface isn’t level. The displays are very easy to read from. For our actual tests, the scale seems to be working very well for what we need. The included manual is easy to understand and follow. The price at time of order was $249 and in 2 weeks appears to be hovering around 5% off.For having lots of glass, it was securely packed and arrives with no issues.

Great lab quality scale
This is a very nice scale. It seems solidly constructed with quality materials. It came packaged securely without damage and it works perfectly. There are 2 screens for readout from either side of the unit.Comes with a pan and 500g calibration weight as well as power cord.It features 3 slide doors to allow placing items easily. There are adjustable screw type feet and a level to ensure that the device sits perfectly level. This device can take batteries to operate in addition to wall outlet.I have not used it for long so I can't speak for it's durability though.Overall, I am pleased with the operation of this scale and it's quality construction.
