Great Greeks: Fun poems for kids about Ancient Greece (History for Kids)

This book is great! It would be amazing for schools to use or teachers to use. It would keep the kids attentive and learn in a fun way. I highly recommend this book for teachers, parents, or schools! It talks about all the greek history that are in the textbooks!

My six-year-old is wanting to learn about all things toga, so I found this book of short poems. He thinks they are fun. We spend time researching what each poem means, so I am loving the family time. We really enjoyed this book.

This was a very quick read. I can see how it might help kids remember some small facts about Greek god, but not enough to help with any schooling. The poems were quite cute though. I did enjoy some of the rhymes.

As the author of "Valentine's Day Poems for Kids" I found this book to be absolutely wonderful! A poetry book about the origin of the Greek culture is hard to find and it is absolutely delightful to read! My kiddo is really into Greek mythology and I thought a poem book may be entertaining as well. He obviously can't read Homer, but this was too silly and babyish.

It was a treat to read this book. I especially liked The Seven Wonders of the World (oh, the Hanging Basket of Babylon was my favorite!!!). The language is simple, and the book is informative - it goes from Mythology to the Olympics. Really nice!

Young kids in this day and age don't have the patience to read long stories. That is why this short poem's adorable book can teach them some very important history lessons through a list of short poems that are entertaining and educational at the same time. Poems about Alexander the Great, astronomers, mathematicians, philosophers, and much more will keep kids engaged. Most recommended for young readers.
