Great deal for good tape
Quick disclaimer, I haven't actually used this for painting.I got these because a lot of the painters tape and masking tape I'd see in the stores were expensive. Plus, I really wanted to have a color that kind of stands out better. Using it mostly anywhere I need something temporary, or for marking and labeling things. It holds on great and I haven't had any residue issues when removing. I have also been able to remove and reposition the tape with it still continuing to have great adhesion.

Green painter's tape
Arrived on time as promised. Great value and beats the big box stores. Adhesion is very good with no break through leaks and no need for touch up.

Damaged and dirty
Have been using this tape for a while, but this latest order arrived damaged and covered in dirt. Had to throw away top roll of tape. Unsure of how this was considered acceptable to sell and ship.

White tape with just the right amount of stickiness
We haven't tried it for paint yet, but we used it to label some boxes, baskets, and drawers, made of paper, wood, and plastic. It seems to stick fine without being overly sticky. We can pull it off the paper without tearing the paper. It does what we want it for. We'll try a painting project in a few months. This is white tape and not beige like other masking tape. It is somewhat see-through, but that would hurt its masking ability. It is thinner than the blue painter's tape we have, which may just help it create a clean painter's line. Furthermore, it cuts and tears easily and straight, and sticks to itself well for painter's tape. When the rolls came, they were all stuck together side by side, and very hard to separate them. We got them apart and will put the unused ones away with parchment paper between them to keep them from sticking together so well.Overall, a good tape for a good price.

Looks ordinary, but performance is excellent
This tape is an off-white tape that looks much like ordinary masking tape found in a dime store, but I found it performs much better. I first tested it for a couple weeks on ordinary printer paper. When I removed it, it came off the paper cleanly, without leaving residue or damaging the paper. This is a test that another "artists masking tape" failed.Next I taped down a piece of watercolor paper for a month. It held without any problem, and after that time still produced a clean edge, now allowing any watercolor to seep under it. I'm very happy with this tape!

Really sticky, like a normal masking tape.
I was thinking this would be akin to the regular blue tape sold at every big box store, but the stickiness seems much more like a regular masking tape. The roles were stuck pretty aggressively together in the packaging which took a lot of force to separate, but there all the rolls were no worse for wear in the end. The tape itself feels pretty durable and hasn’t torn yet, but we’ll see how it holds ip after more use.

An excellent product that equalled a big brand in several tests.
I use painters tape on a regular basis for a variety of tasks, including painting the interior and exterior of my house, painting a wood deck, and occasionally when painting with acrylics on canvas.I decided to put this tape through some tests to get an idea of how it performs. When painting, I think it’s best to find out if a tape will work in advance, not after it fails. I describe each test below with a short sentence at the beginning of the paragraph so you can quickly scan the text and find the tests that are important to you. This green tape did not leave adhesive residue in any of the tests.TLDR version: This tape performed well and equalled a big brand painters tape when tested head-to-head.Test #1: General tear strength. This is a simple test - I tore off several pieces of this green tape and of a leading big brand multi-purpose painters tape and gauged their strength based on the resistance each tape offered when I tore pieces off the roll with my fingers. This green tape felt like it offered slightly more tear resistance than the big brand.Test #2: Does it leave a sharp paint edge? I applied a strip of this green tape to a piece of unfinished 1x8 pine that had been stored in a garage-type area subject to humidity but not to rain. I applied a high-quality exterior acrylic house paint and let it dry outside. I removed the tape after two hours (when the paint felt dry to the touch), and it left a clean, sharp edge. See the images I’ve included.Test #3: Short-term adhesion to various materials indoors. I did side-by-side tests to compare this green tape with a leading brand multi-purpose painters tape. I applied pieces of tape, then removed them to gauge how well they adhered to each material based on how much resistance I felt when removing the tape. I did this on painted interior walls, glass, aluminum, porcelain tile, and unfinished pine. This green tape felt like it adhered at least as well as the big brand tape on each surface. Neither tape left any adhesive residue.Test #4: Adhesive strength on a vinyl tarp. For this test I applied strips of this green tape and a leading big-brand painters tape to a heavy-duty tarp from a local big-box store. The test tarp is textured and most tapes do not adhere to it very well. This test was done in dry, outdoor conditions. The tarp had been used in the past and I wiped the dust/dirt off with a clean, dry cloth. This green tape seemed to adhere to the tarp slightly better than the big brand painters tape, but neither of them stuck very well.Test #5: Adhesion in a humid outdoor environment. I applied this green tape to bare wood, stained wood, and wood painted with exterior house paint. The stain and paint had been applied more than one year earlier. I left the wood/tape samples on a screened-in porch where they were subjected to humidity between 60% and 95%, but not to rain. After 24 hours, this green tape was still well adhered to each sample. After 48 hours, adhesion on the stained wood only was reduced by about 30%, with the this green tape still adhering well to the bare and painted wood samples. This green tape left no adhesive residue on any of the wood samples.Test #6: Adhesion to wood outdoors in the rain. I applied a strip of this green tape to a piece of unfinished pine and left it outdoors overnight. It rained pretty hard, and in the morning about 70% of the tape had fully detached from the wood, and the rest was just barely hanging on.Test #7: Effect of mineral spirits applied directly to the tape. I applied a strip of this green tape to unfinished pine, and another strip to painted pine, then used a rag to wipe some mineral spirits on both strips. Both adhered well after 5 minutes, and both still adhered pretty well after 10 minutes when the mineral spirits had evaporated. There was no adhesive residue left on the wood.Test #8: Approximating watercolor paint on paper. I did not have watercolor paint or paper, so I added water to a national brand artist’s acrylic to create paint with a consistency similar to watercolor. I applied this green tape carefully to some high quality 70 lb. drawing paper, applying pressure only along the edge that would contact the paint. The tape produced a clean but not perfect line – see the images.I also put a strip of this green tape on the same paper and applied moderate pressure to the full width of the tape when I pressed it down. This time when I removed the tape, even though I was careful, it took some of the paper with it. If you plan to use this tape on paper, cardboard or unfinished drywall, you should test it first to see if the tape can be removed cleanly.
