Thomas & Friends Cranky at the Docks

Super fun toy! Quality of the new Thomas and Friends Wood is not as good as before (reason for only 4 stars). 4 year old son LOVES this Cranky. Magnet is very strong and can pick up all of his trains and cargo. We love having the boat, cargo, and character. This adds alot to how he can play with it. Track adaptors fit with wooden originsl wooden track flawlessly. I wish the price was better since the new line REALLY goes down in quality, but is still a super fun toy! Some descriptions say it includes a "troublesome truck", but it does not. Wasn't really expecting it to, but was hopeful since description said it would.

My child just started getting into Thomas trains after Fisher Price made the switch to the inferior “Wood” line. Although they seem to be saving money by using a lot less paint and more plastic, the cost of the product to customers has not gone down! I paid $46.75 for this product. The Good: This version of Cranky looked similar to the Wooden Railway version and I liked that it came with a boat and person.The Bad: Upon arrival, I noticed that Cranky is mounted on a giant plastic platform with straight tracks that cannot be removed. It is simply too large to be incorporated into my kids current train table setup.The Outcome: Luckily, I was able to find the original Wooden Railway Cranky online for the same price from a national B&N bookstore online, so I ordered right away and will return this “Wood” one.As far as the “Wood” products go, it’s not as bad as some of the others, but they should consider removing the giant plastic platform and $39.99 would be a more appropriate price. (I noticed that Fisher Price just marked up this version to $59.99 on their site and there is no way I’d ever pay that for a product that is mostly plastic.)I really hope Fisher Price listens to their customers and goes back to a high quality Wooden Railway version of their products. We won’t be purchasing any of the “Wood” line going forward.

I bought this cranky 6 months ago, it's holding up very well. My kids absolutely love this toy. It's a good size and my 5yo and 2yo have an easy time playing with it. The only reason why I took off a star is because I don't like that the base of cranky is plastic and not wood.

Easy to get it to my grandson in Louisiana from Grandmother in Michigan (Upper Michigan)

What more can you ask from a gift for a 4 year old than for it to be a favorite of the child. Even after 8 months it is still greatly favored.

Our boys (3 & 1 going on 4 & 2) love this toy. They play with it more than any other toy. I'm amazed it is still in one piece.

It is well built and fits with all the other wooden tracks. Love that it comes with more then just cranky and as just as well built as the $100 cranky's I've seen

We had the old version. I don't understand the complaints. My son likes this one too. This crane also comes with lots of great play accessories.

You think for $60 they could put a better handle on it to operate the crane feature or put in a battery powered unit.

Anche questo un pezzo di eccezione per la collezione trenino Thomas. E' resistente e molto ben fatto anche se il prezzo è un po' elevato. Ha di buono che è fornito di due pezzi che lo rendono adattabile alle ferrovie in legno di qualunque marcaperciò può essere incluso nei binari oppure semplicemente messo a lato. La confezione oltre al gancio contiene la barca, i container da caricare e gli adattatori per ferrovia. Un bellissimo gioco per chi ama questa serie

Great fun toy. My daughter loves and uses regularly with her wooden track. Only 'minor' 'picky' comment is that it nicely and easily picks up the cargo, but a shame there's no easy 'release' button for the magnets as you have to grab and pull off the cargo, which sometimes pull the main unit/crane over slightly. Still would recommend for good fun and motor skills.

Great addition to our sons collection. 4-stars as there should really be a better mechanism to lift up cranky’s magnet.

My son loves trains and has got alot of pieces, i have to say this is one of his favorites specially the cargo ship and its containers
