A Wonderful Box Set - You Will Not Be Disappointed
Each book is full of exciting balls and events. The characters are so invested in their duty it becomes a fragile fight between duty and love. The characters are so realistic and well developed. I loved the storylines for each of the books. A FORTHRIGHT COURTSHIP: is about a young woman who did not grow up in society but is a part of it. Her guardians are the children of her dying father's best friend. She must learn everything to fit into polite society. She makes a lot of mistakes and is chastised for it. She comes to have a tend re for her host and he does not realize he is falling for her too. It takes the sister's intervention to bring both parties together.A LOVE WORTH SAVING: It is wonderful to be reacquainted with the characters from "A Forthright Courtship" by Fanny Finch. In Ms. Finch's previous book, we met Miss Maria Worthing who is now engaged to Lord Edward Reginald, Duke of Foreshire and they were planning their wedding. Our heroine is Edward's sister, Lady Georgiana Reginald. She is a quiet, unassuming woman whose joy in life is seeing others happy. She considers herself a wallflower and at the age of six and twenty she feels she is on the verge of spinsterhood. Our reluctant hero is Captain Robert Trentworth. He is a man that does his best to think before speaking. He is a man of discipline and principle. But when he is around Lady Georgiana all common sense leaves him and he feels nothing but anger and bitterness. He had been engaged to Georgiana a few years ago only to have his heart broken when she called it off. Her father the late Duke of Foreshire, forbade her from marrying Robert because he had no title or fortune. Years later, Georgiana's best friend brings them together again and it turns out to be more difficult than any could imagine. This book is very realistic in the relationships it portrayed. It is easy to relate to the character's moods and emotions. I did find myself sighing a lot reading the story of pain and heartache. I found this to be a wonderful read. I highly recommend it.LOVE LETTERS TO A LADY: I immediately fell in love with the main characters, Miss Julia Weston and Mr. James Norwich. Julia is witty, has a sharp tongue, she is loving, gregarious, entertaining, fanciful and a romantic at heart. James is the ideal companion for Julia. He is thoughtful, indulging, witty, honest, forthright and has harbored a secret unrequited love for Julia for a few years. They have known each other since childhood and continued their close friendship into their young adult years. They are now the closest of friends and each other’s confidant. Julia can talk to James about anything. He does not rebuke her that she may be asking about things that a proper lady would not speak of. They spend time together at balls and dinners. He is well regarded by Julia's parents and shows them the upmost respect. James loves everything about Julia and would never stifle her creative personality. But Julia is blind to James' love for her. James is timid when it comes to expressing emotions. So, when he is around Julia, he is in his friendship mode. How could Julia possibly know how he feels? James has not once ever said anything to that affect or acted in a way that would tip her off to his feelings and intentions. Julia was under the impression that James could never feel love for her other than as a little sister. When James finally came to the end of his rope, he decided to declare himself to Julia. He was too timid to do it in person. He decides to write her a letter. He is more at ease writing than verbally expressing himself. In writing, James pours all the feelings he has for Julia and declares that he loves her. In his nervousness and excitement, he forgets one tiny, tiny detail in his letter. He forgot to sign his name before sending it off to the post. Oh, how he lamented his mistake and did not know what to do. When Julia received the letter, she was completely taken off guard. It warmed her heart that someone had sent her such a loving letter conveying their deepest regard and esteem. The letters continue back and forth but Julia never suspects who really, they are from. This was the beginning of a secret courtship between Julia and her correspondent (aka James). This book is so endearing and enjoyable to read. The letters between James and Julia were tender, supportive, encouraging and insightful. It was fun to read about the interactions between James and Julia after the writing had begun. Julia was still oblivious to James' true feelings for her. What happens next will cause bumps in the road for James and Julia. It may even cause the end of their friendship. What an emotional read. I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed all three books
I read these books separately and enjoyed all three. This author writes interesting, introspective characters. All three books were very different, with completely different heroines and issues. However, they all tie together quite nicely. The heroines are VERY different but they are all very strong and have a good sense of self. I liked that they held true to their love and convictions without being nasty or simpering. All three books have serious moments as well as cute, funny and lighthearted moments.Technically, they are not badly written but do need some help. (there may be updates from the time of this review and when I read them)In "A Forthright Courtship" I found several terms and words that to me, sound modern in this genre. For example "shot her down" and "She hoped that this was not a pity dance" (funny but it seemed out out place), "spit it out already" etc. Actually quite a few places that I did not list could, in my opinion, be technically improved. In "Love Letters to a Lady", I found quite a bit of the same modern or not quite fitting with the time period, words and phrases. For example, 'morph', (TOTALLY modern word!), "make a play" (would that class of person really say that? I'm not sure....), "down on yourself", "beat yourself up", "messing with both their heads". These words and phrases always throw me out of the story and time period. I find it distracting. In "A Love Worth Saving", I enjoyed the story but unfortunately have TONS of bookmarks of sentences ending with prepositions, modern or off-putting words and phrases. Seriously, too many to list. I got to the point where I wasn't actually reading the story so much as looking for errors.OTHER THAN THAT, if you are not picky about books being technically well written, you will enjoy these stories and the characters.

Disappointing Historical Romances
Last Chance For The Charming Ladies, clean historical romances A Forthright Courtship: Maria arrives from the Caribbean, needing to find a husband before the Season’s end and her the passing of her ailing father. London’s society proves daunting and cruel to a lively girl who did not grow up under its rules. A bitter duke, Edward, and his sister, Georgiana, may be enough to protect and guide her or he may be the one to endanger her heart most of all. – Maria is unique and an interesting. Edward does not like society. He enjoys the company of Maria and Georgiana and is protective of hem. I friendship between Georgiana and Maria was sweet. This book was too slow. The author kept repeating Maria’s past, Edward’s feelings about the ton, etc. I am hoping the other books are better. You can get an extended epilogue by signing up to get emails from the author. It was lengthy and pretty much like the book. A Love Worth Saving: Georgiana mourns a love lost but never forgotten. On the verge of spinsterhood, she needs to decide her future fast. When fate makes it so her path crosses that of her former suitor, Robert. Will she be brave enough to seize the second chance? – This book was slow and disappointing. The author repeats herself too much. I liked the “epilogue.” You can get an extended epilogue by signing up to get emails from the author, but it was disappointing.. Love Letters To A Lady: Georgiana’s best friend, Julia, does not think about marriage at all until her parents demand her to do so. A secret admirer sends her unsigned letters that make her heart shiver. The secret admirer is her long-time friend. Will he finally win her heart before another one does? Will he find the courage to reveal the truth before it is too late? – Julia is a fun character. Her social attendance was entertaining. I enjoyed the love letters and her friendship with the sender. This book is slow like the others, and there are too many repeats. It is like the author looks at every angle or beats an issue to death. You can get a short extended epilogue by signing up to get emails from the author.

Fantastic romance!
I received a review copy of this book set from the author. I have read a number of books by this author and I have been a little critical of certain aspects of some of her past books. However, this set of three stories blew me away! I loved each story individually and they work wonderfully as a collection. Each story is a charming and sweet romance about three different ladies and their quest to find true love. Each story is slightly different but each story is rich in romance and each story makes the heart flutter. The characters are all engaging and likeable and very relevant for the time period - both the ladies and the men. The setting of each story and the social customs of society are vividly and richly described and are completely era appropriate - from the lavish balls to everyday life. I felt completely immersed in the era as I read these stories. This is historical romance at its finest. Fantastic read!

Last Chance for the Charming Ladies by Fanny Finch.
A Forthright Courtship. This lovely romance is about a Duke, named Edward, born in England and a young woman, Maria, born in the Caribbean. They meet when her father writes to his best friend, the dukes father, asking for his help to introduce his young daughter to a season in London society. Edward is knowledgeable of the society in general. Maria is kind, innocent and unsophisticated and must find a husband by the end of the season before her dear father passes away. How the two find there true happiness is told in this interesting romance.A Love Worth Saving.I so enjoyed this book about a sea captain and a dukes daughter who have loved each other in the intervening years not knowing how the other still felt. The prejudice of the old duke drove them apart. Now add to this her very good friends invitation to visit her in Bath, making new acquaintances, a marriage proposal and then back to a London for a wedding go to make this romance a very intriguing read. For some reason I missed out on the extended epilogue which was a great shame as I would have liked to have known how Robert and Georgiana life panned out for them.Love Letters to a Lady.Julie, an only daughter, is told by her parents that they feel it is time she thought about marriage. James is heir to his fathers estate and is a serious young man. Then a letter is sent and received but the signature has been forgotten by the sender and the letters begin. Thoughts and feelings that cannot be said face to face, but in a letter who knows, anything can happen. A sweet and thoughtful story.I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

Three great stories in one collection
This is a "charming" collection of three stories, set in similar time and place. I have previously read each of these stories, and it was pleasing to read them again, one following the other. A very relaxed and rested time just for me. Fanny Finch is quite an accomplished author, and I so enjoy her stories. I review and recommend this story voluntarily.

A Must Read
Ms. Finch brings all of her characters to life with such depth of personalities it's as though you already know them. Her descriptions of characters and the times they live in are so rich in detail. I would recommend grabbing this book, finding a comfortable place and just give yourself over to these wonderful stories
