This is a fantastic 31 Day Devotional
This is a fantastic 31 Day Devotional. I would say it's great for individual use, or as a small group Bible study. Youth and adults would get a lot out of this study, especially for those who are familiar with Jesus. I've been a Jr. High youth pastor for a long time, and we are using this book in our summer Bible study, and it has created really good discussion and questions with our kids who have grown up in the church. I've talked with adults who have used this book for their own enrichment, and they speak very highly of it. I love the small group study format of reading a book together out loud with the group, but the book has to have very short chapters to be used in this way, and this book does that perfectly. Each chapter/day is very short, but very substantial. It even as questions at the end to ask. Studying a character of the Bible that many church people are familiar with, but haven't really considered provokes lots of good thoughts, self-examination, and discussion. I highly recommend it!

Worth it
This is an awesome easy to read book. I think this book would be appropriate for a youth group (it's short and easy to read) as well as for older Christians set in their ways (it makes you question how you view yourself, as a good/devout Christian who thinks of themselves as adequate for saving--or should we work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)?John uses the old WWJD concept to grab your attention, to make you judge the book by its title on purpose, and make you a little curious to see what in the world he's talking about. This book would be a great bible study for youth because of how short, relatable, and simple the writing is. The chapters are short but the concepts are huge. The overarching theme is that, despite Judas' closeness to Jesus, his works for God, his praying time, his time sweating for the gospel --in the end he was still tempted, betrayed the Savior, and went to hell. Christians shouldn't rely on a check box of duties/works that we think is good evidence of our salvation. We should rely on Christ. Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Heb 12:1).

I came away hungering for more of Jesus and thankful for His undeserving love and abundant mercy as I saw my own desires ...
The title of this book was enough to grab my attention, and from the introduction through the end my attention as well as my heart remained engaged. The author encourages us to use this book however it fits our own needs, and I confess I had planned to use it as a daily devotional but ended up reading it all the way through in 3 days. Seeing Jesus Christ through the eyes of Judas Iscariot was sobering, alarming, and yet simultaneously encouraging to my soul, taking stock of my own affections. I came away hungering for more of Jesus and thankful for His undeserving love and abundant mercy as I saw my own desires and sinful habits in the life of the disciple called the betrayer. I encourage any and all who are looking for a new devotional book, or are curious to know more about the most infamous sinner in human history, or those who simply want to grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ to pick this book up! Its accessibility for all ages and stages, as well as its universal themes make this a book I will be incorporating in my discipleship and teaching ministry as a local pastor! Many thanks to John Perritt and the Publisher!

Makes a Christian evaluate personal walk. Some who knew Jesus well and walked with him for three years still betrayed him. First-hand knowledge didn’t guarantee belief or eternal life. Knowing and knowing about are not the same.

this is a great and easy read
If your students struggle with complacency, self-righteousness, or assurance, this is a great and easy read. Some of the references are a little dated, but over all a good fit for youth groups!

Fresh perspective and thought provoking!
I used this in my 9th Grade "Life of Christ" class and loved it! Not only did it engage the kids I was teaching, I was convicted as I read it. It has become one of the books I give to my students for special occasions and I will be using it again!

How do we value eternal life?
Perritt considers all the miracles and truths Judas experienced first hand with Jesus, and how he valued it ultimately. It should challenge any reader to examine their own commitment to Christ!
