Excellent and Reliable Charger
This is a great little charger all the way around. It is very easy to operate and it does a great job. Just plug it in to a household outlet (or to another vehicle's cigarette lighter), clamp it on to your vehicle battery, and let it work. It has a blue light comes on immediately to let you know that it is properly connected to its power source. It also has a graduated three-light system that lets your know the status of the charge (battery not fully charged/battery fully charged/fault-problem with connection). This charger can fully charge any vehicle battery that is capable of being recharged. I use it as a trickle charger for my Toyota Tacoma pickup. I also have a Black & Decker BC2BDW charger, which is EXACTLY like this one, but a little smaller. I use that one as a trickle charger for my little Toyota pickup. Both have worked flawlessly. These chargers work well as either the charger of a dead battery, OR as a trickle charger (battery maintainer). This model is designed to remain hooked up continuously without over-charging the battery. It has a smart sensor. These chargers are also waterproof, although I recommend that -- if possible (especially in maintainer usage) -- that you mount/place them under your vehicle hood while in use. This will keep them out of the direct weather and probably add many, many, many years to their life. I highly recommend this charger and this entire family line of chargers just like it.

-20 degrees, dead battery and hood release snaps..NO PROBLEM- this charges through cigarette lighter
This saved me when my battery died in -20 degree temps and my hood release cable snapped. Older Jeeps are known for their ability to handle any terrain and for their dual hood latching system failing. The only way to open the hood is by disassembling both headlights and unbolting the latches from the frame. Then, you can open the hood but have to repair the latches and cable mechanism...not to mention the dead battery. I wasn't about to tackle all that until the weather warmed up. Thank goodness for this little beauty. I plugged it into the cigarette lighter and in no time the battery was fully charged and my trusty old Jeep was back on the road. This charger has two (2) adapters for charging - the traditional clamp style and the cigarette lighter adapter. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!NOTE: For the reviewers who had problems with clicking and not charging: I can't speak for this item but I have a Schumacher charger that is amazing and has revived many sulfated batteries for me. That charger makes a clicking noise every few seconds when it goes into "reconditioning" mode and it takes up to 24 hours to recondition the battery. Sometimes the battery is just too far gone. I've had that charger for 15 years and still works great but is doesn't have the cigarette lighter adapter and it was about twice the price of this unit.

Worked Better Than Expected, Seems Sturdy, Reliable, And Charged Nearly Fully Dead Battery On Yamaha WaveRunner Overnight
I had gone to NY for a few weeks but it ended up being an almost 2 months long trip. My Yamaha WaveRunner was left unused (with some electronics and security devices that do use a bit of battery over time). My alarm system alerted me that the battery was at 10% charge but I was still unable to make it back to Florida. When I got back, sure enough, there was not a peep from the battery when I tried to use the vessel. I was wondering if my battery was in that "so discharged that this charger won't recharge it" condition, which several people have pointed out to. I left the charger plugged in with its sturdy clamps on the jet ski battery, placed the charger in the footwell, plugged it into my shore power, and left it overnight. I am a late night person and went back to my dock a few times during that 12 hours period and the charging lights did not seem to show that my battery had been charged up. So, it was still a bit of not knowing. But, fortunately for me, the charger had fully charged up my battery and I have brought the charger inside for safe keeping. It is good to know that it worked as I needed it to. I would prefer to give it 4.5 stars but that is not an option so I am giving it 4. The reason I cannot give it 5 stars is that it is annoying to know that this higher power higher priced item comes with fewer accessories for charging options than their own cheaper models. Additionally, maybe I missed it in the Amazon description, but they should make it very clear that it will not charge fully drained batteries. I was lucky not to have that situation but it would have been a time and energy (no pun intended) wasting exercise to leave it on all night and day, still have a dead battery, and then be calling Amazon for a return. Lastly, and this is a big user experience "UX" design issue, just having a solid LED for 12 hours tells you nothing whether it is just putting out voltage to the battery or if the battery is actually accepting it (e.g. a blinking LED the rate of blinking to indicate how much charge/current is flowing into charging the battery) would have made it a lot easier to know. Otherwise, I am glad I got it, glad it arrived on time, and charged my battery. I will probably move it into my car trunk to keep with me when I travel and if I ever drain that battery. Hope you will find this review and opinion Helpful!Imran Anwarimran.tv

Works like a charm
Works like a charm. I was given this as a gift by my brother for my boat which (since we live north of Portland, Or. in SW Wa.) is garaged 9 months a year. I’ve used this for better than a year and it has worked flawlessly on my Optima battery (17+ years and still going strong) as well as for the batteries in my Jeep and 1 ton truck, and for my BMW SUV. I couldn’t be happier so I just bought the exact one again so I will have 2. I also have Battery Tenders and cheap Harbor Freight ones that work great but they are only good for the motorcycles and ATV’s, or for just a top off. I see where others have had serious issues, fortunately I’ve had a100% perfect experience with this product.
