Works with 75ohm AES inputs
I bought this to play music from my laptop into a 75ohm AES input and it works perfectly.Yes, it is made for spdif (the consumer standard) but it is the exact same 1s and 0s as the professional AES standard.I simply added an RCA to BNC adaptor and it works

Sounds good
Works fine except the 3.5 mm port does not work right out of the box

Coax and 3.5mm outputs don't work at all
My old Dell computer running Windows 7 had a coax digital audio output port that I wired to my stereo. My new Dell computer running Windows 11 does not have this output so this device looked like just what I needed. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all. Windows recognizes the device when plugged in via USB and says it's sending audio to it. But nothing comes out the coax port and nothing comes out the 3.5mm port when I plug headphones into it. Same result on the old PC. I did not test the optical port because I don't have an optical cable. I contacted the manufacturer but they weren't of any help and suggested I return it, which is exactly what I'll have to do.

More than it appears
This is a digital audio converter. Not only will it convert usb to coax or toslink, it will also convert to 3.5mm analog. Thus if you need to convert usb from a device like a smartphone to connect to an amp, you can do it even if the amp does not have digital input. Since this device is just a dac and not an amplifier it is a good way to get usb into analog. I’m using it and get a simple clean signal.
