But dr sholl foam inserts in mine and it fit fine. But i got a 1/2 bigger shoe size than normal. **Q: I normally wear a 4x width. what is the equivalent for this shoe, x-wide or xx-wide?** A: I had a pair of 4e but now I have some 6e and I like them better. They were advertised as XX wide. Go for it! **Q: Does it have a stiff wide toebox** A: My son wears th with a wide foot and he likes the fit especially for the price. **Q: Are the soles removable?** A: They are glued in but by pulling on it, I am pretty sure the will come right out. I will be adding my own insoles too. These are fantastic, he's hard on shoes and we purchase under armour for our teens because they are so rough and break down shoes quick. These survive the creek, beach, long walks and fishing. They fit wonderful for wider feet and easy to tie strings. Good sole support and the base is great for lots of walking. This is a Disney, long day of walking traveling and playing hard shoes.
