The older pump seemed identical except it came with a hose and nozzle (and the housing was white instead of red). When I received the new pump I noticed a few other details. The water input and output fittings are smaller that the old pump. I used a stainless steel hose clamp and was able to tighten it enough that my old hose fit. This pump provides as much pressure as the old one so it's working out fine for me. One comment though, I had to send back the first unit as the packaging had been resealed with tape and there were parts missing (notably the white plastic strainer for the water intake). Second unit was new and has been working fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rule IL280P 12 Volt 280 GPH Inline and Submersible Pump *by E***T on Reviewed in the United States on 12 May 2019* Decent pump for shallow applications say 10 foot or less. My application was at the max of 20 foot. The issue I ran into was on a battery alone it would not pump up that high. But if I connected to a running vehicle it would, i.e. 12v battery voltage vs the 13.5-14v charging voltage. Over all it did the job I asked of it but I only used it for a short time - couple weeks. So I cannot speak to the longevity of it. However the water I was pumping had a lot of fine sand and silt in it and it did not fail. I still have it and use it occasionally for water transferring from on container to another - 5 foot or less .
