1 of his best
A fast paced book that will delight bizarro fans and perhaps tempt a few more to give it a try with a title like this. In an alternate future 2 ss officers are on a mission to find the last imperfect man, what unfolds is mellick at his best as he takes us on this surreal journey.

A decent read
This was a fairly good read. I must admit it's not a genre I have read before but was drawn in by the title. In parts it was extremely weird, in parts it was a bit drawn out (which is weird in a short book) and in parts it was excellent. One flaw I found was the author often slipped from third person to first person then back. Also their was no need to describe the whole story before the story began. All in all a worthwhile read though.

Great Title, So-so Story
Being an enthusiast for all things Alice, I simply had to pick up this book based on the clever title alone. The title is pretty much the story, though this isn't Carroll's Wonderland but one of Mr Mellick's creation. The author plainly outlines what the book is about in a short preface, which to my mind is not needed; the theme is summed up in a single quote at the end. I think he suceeded in his aim, but even given how short this story is, it feels oddly padded out, as if episodes were included to bulk out the page count. Nonetheless, it does capture a certain essence of the Alice stories in its dream logic progression from one series of events to another, even if (as stated) some of these events seem pointless. So, overall quite good, but not as good as expectations set up by that title.
