For the cost of this pen it is an excellent value. It writes smoothly with a clear ink delivery.

The first thing that I noticed about it is how heavy it feels, which I don't mind. Then the uncapping, capping there is a heavy snap that is required. Personally, I like that because I know it won't fly off accidently. I did try out the included cartridge but usually use the converter and fill it up with bottled ink. Never had any leaking or drying out problems.My first flex nib. Granted, I don't use it as it was intended but, in my case, it is a great way of making bolder lines at will. It truly is a joy to write with and has quickly become one of my favorite fountain pens.

Initially it seamed as if nib had a problem when manufactured. I really had a hard time getting initial flow, even twisted the converter a bit to help get it started and realized it was coming out the side not the center of nib like all my other fountain pens. I kept weighting a full page and doing line tests and eventually it got better. I have used it for several days now and the flow still stops sometimes and I have to open pen up and twist converter to get it flowing again. I do enjoy the feel it is what I was looking for just didn’t expect the flow issue. Hope this helps someone making the choice to buy or not. Take care

The only way I can get this stiff nib to flex a little is during a left top to lright down diagonal stroke, and only with pressure that almost tears the paper. I am sorely disappointed. Another, a bit more expensive Monteverde pen with omniflex nib performs better although nowhere nearly as well as an ultra flex nib. But it has a smoother nib overall.I have contacted Monteverde but got no response. if I wanted a "fine" nib I would have ordered that. I do not. I like bold lines that show off the inks I use.I am not new to fountain pens. My oldest pen is probably well over 50 years old and still writes like new because back then companies did not manufacture in China.This pen is going back. Five stars for looks, less than one star for performance

Update: they called me and offered a replacement tip. Still a shame I had to write a bad review to get support.I purchased this pen in January and right out of the box the omni-flex nib never flowed correctly. This would not be an issue except Monteverde never responds to support request. Eventually I bought a different nib and have been using it. Kind of a shame they don't car about customers and just ignore you. I will not buy Monteverde and recommend people buy other brands since they have zero support.It is a shame because it would have been a great product if they even bothered to reply at all.

From the finish to the weight & balance, this is worth the price.She wrote straight out of the box. The nib is beautiful and laid down a wonderful line with very nice variation.A pleasure to look at and even more so to use.
