Great film, poor quality DVD
The film is great and I have waited years to be able to see it again, sadly the picture quality and sound are really poor. The picture is very grainy and doesn't compare well with other DVDs that I have from the same era.

Rachel weisz is mesmerising
I don’t know how she pulls off blonde hair but she does and she’s the hottest woman on earth. In this particular film she was soooo funny although she’s younger here, she still shows skill in her acting - I think it was nice to see her in a dark comedy. I much prefer films where she is lesbian of course but nevertheless, she is a joy to watch and I was genuinely having such a bad day but a cuppa tea and rach, makes everything better

Won't change your life but might change your mood.
Beautiful Creatures was real fun to watch. It won't change your outlook on life but will make you happier with the one you have. The plot is ridiculous, the coincidence make you feel like buying a lottery ticket, but it gets you involved. It moves on a pace and the humour is very non-PC but the naughtyness makes it more enjoyable. Susan Lynch and Rachael Weisz are superb actresses and seemed to enjoy the filiming and this comes over. It is, however, morally corrupt but that is part of the fun once you switch your morals and brain off (don't try this at home). Similar to High Heels and Low Lifes in that it is a diversion.Recommended once you accept its limitations. Watch it two or three times as there are lots of little visual and verbal in-jokes that are too easy to miss the first time around. Well worth three stars.

You believe it could happen - in fact wish it would
delivered promptly - well packaged - no damage - as described - no hassles. No spoilersGood story well told - another one where I could only see one answer but how to get that point. Hence the story. It all tied up well.A couple of women become bonded by circumstances to dig their way out of a hole. This is the way they do it and the ripples thereafter. None of it is too heavy nor un believable.all in all well crafted well acted a highly enjoyable watch.ACID TEST: would I buy it again/ recommend it - yes

The dog steals the show
Two beautiful young women Dorothy [Susan Lynch] and Petula [Rachel Weisz] are both in relationships with abusive men. Through circumstances the pair are brought together by Dorothy' dog, Pluto. When one of the men dies, the newfound friends end up with a corpse in the bathroom and a seedy detective on their trail and so the pair hatch an ill-conceived plan to save them from an impossible situation. What follows is a darkly humorous tragic comedy of errors as they lurch from one catastrophe to another. In many respects its a Thelma & Louise meets Weekend at Bernie's where the humour is very tongue in cheek. The acting throughout is superb and Pluto the dog steals many a scene. The film portrays men and women in a very stereotypical black& white manner -all the men are rogues whilst the women are hapless victims trapped in violent relationships that they seem more afraid of getting out from. The sense of violence is always present although not always visual. The film isn't ground-breaking or highly original but it is highly watchable and despite failing to make 5 stars, it is highly recommended.

GREAT FILM DATED NOW BUT STILL VERY WATCHABLE
Rachel Weisz is stunning in this early career film. This is the 3rd copy of this film i have purchased. When friends and family borrow it they liked it so much i did not get it back!!! That should tell you what a great film this is, so funny in places BUT Rachels performance is great, so sexy without even trying. It's well worth a watch.

Tis good
Sits happily between a black comedy and serious Brit thriller. Throughly enjoyable despite the bleak storyline, funny in places and entertaining.
