THIRDREALITY Smart Color Night Light, Matter Over WiFi, 3-1 Multi-Functionality, Work with SmartThings, Google Home, Apple Home, Alexa

I use this product with HomeKit on iOS. I wanted a nightlight that could be triggered by motion and only come on when the area was dim enough, and that's exactly what this does. Pros: * Modular. The power brick plugs into the back of the light, sitting in a recess that lets the whole thing be mostly flush when connected to power. In theory, if the brick dies, I suppose you could find a similar one and swap it out. * Motion and light detection work as they should. I have yet to notice this not responding to these triggers. * The pairing code is on the unit itself, letting one easily re-add it to a smart home, should that be necessary. Cons: * The light isn't very bright. * The unit is kind of big. Put it in the bottom of a standard dual outlet box or it'll block the other outlet. Even then, nothing even a little bulky will fit into the top outlet. Overall, this is a great product that does exactly what it says it'll do, and does it reliably. It could be brighter, but that's my only real complaint.

As a HomeKit user since pretty much the very beginning, I saw this neat accessory and I had to pick it up; 2 sensors and an RGB night light all in one for the price is a great deal. I did have some setup hassle, but I knew how to handle it. Please read carefully and I will tell you exactly how I got mine working! 1. When I opened the box, my home was still using the old HomeKit architecture, as I have an intel iMac that I didn’t want to update (for performance reasons). As it turns out, YOU NEED to be running the new home architecture. If you don’t, the device will successfully add to your home, but it will immediately become unresponsive. I decided to upgrade my home, I will use my other devices to control my home now… 2. The device ships with factory firmware. There is much better updated firmware. To install it, you need the 3R-Installer app by the manufacturer. You first need to add the device to that app BEFORE adding it to your Apple home. When you add it, you should see the firmware update. Say “Yes” to update the device. Once the firmware is updated, you need to remove it from the app, then reset the device by using a paperclip and inserting it into the hole on the side of the device while it is plugged in. THEN you can add it to your Apple Home with the new home architecture and it will work very smoothly. I found that this device took a little longer than my other ones to come back online, but it does eventually come back online. No need to reset the device with a paper clip for this. Overall, this IS in fact a good product, it does work. But it is a bit of a hassle setting it up. I hope this is helpful!

When I bought this, I thought it was defective. I WAS WRONG! The only problem was me. I was trying to integrate this into Home Assistant. I was logged into HA as a regular user, not as an Admin. After correcting for my dumb, I got this operational. I have been fine tuning it's operation under HA for a little while. Remember, this is NOT a plug and play device. If you plug it in, it will NOT automatically turn on the light at night, at least under HA. You must use it's Motion detection, and LUX level, if you want, to the tell the light when to turn on or off. After getting it to work the way I wanted, I have also used it to also turn on a secondary light in the area, a bedroom, for more complete lighting. If you use this in a small to medium room, i.e. a bathroom, this light is plenty bright enough. I have never been a fan of turning on bright lights at night just to walk around. I just want enough light to avoid objects and anything a pet might move/leave for me. If you are automating your house, this Night Light is great!

Could not keep it connected to WiFi. Support was very helpful but unsuccessful. They get 5 stars. I have many WiFi smart devices all stay connected but this one. May be a setting in my WiFi but everything else is rock solid. My WiFi setup is UniFi. With that said I have several of these using zigbee and thread and they have been perfect.

On paper this product sounds great 3 functions neatly packed into a nightlight. I integrated this straight into Apple Home and the functionality is about 50%. The color of the light color only changes half the time when commanded to. The ambient light sensor takes longer to update Apple Home than my battery powered one. The only thing that works without fail is the motion sensor. Had high hopes for this product and it seems to have fallen short. Update: after some early glitches the dependability in Apple Home has improved as it relates to color changing in automations. Have not noticed any issues in a few days. Would like to see the ambient light sensor update apple home quicker. As it stands now 2-3 minutes to update makes the light sensor pretty useless. Since this is a powered product I would think there would be an ability to decrease that update time to 15-30 seconds like my other powered ambient light sensors. Update Feb 2024: light sensor appears to have been updated in recent firmware download. It now functions very quickly and works as expected in Apple home.

I originally ordered this to test out the concept with the intention of ordering a bunch to use as night lights, motion sensors to trigger various automations, and as notification indicator lamps that would trigger when something was happening in my Home Assistant instance, such as when the garage door is open, the alarm is arming/armed/disarmed, when the doorbell rings, etc. Unfortunately, I was unable to get these to stay online for more than a few hours without having to hard-reset and entirely set up factory fresh. I believe it's due to an issue with our XFinity router and the requirement for the 2.4GHZ network, but it made the devices entirely unusable. Our internet and router are free through our condo, so there is no cost savings associated with upgrading the equipment, so there was no path forward with this unfortunately. THAT BEING SAID - I returned this and ordered the Zigbee version instead. They are SPECTACULAR for the use cases I mentioned before. I have customized the nightlights to have a smooth transitions, light heartbeat color pulsing for notifications, WITB-based room occupancy lighting automations, and a bunch more things that these made possible. SO. The verdict is that these are, in concept, fantastic, and what will make or break them for you is whether you are able to run a special separate 2.4Ghz network of wifi just for your smart home. If you can't (e.g. you have Xfinity), then you're better off with the Zigbee version.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Good when they work, but unfortunately that is not a given. I purchased three of these devices to use with Home Assistant to provide visual color cues to support automatons (e.g. alarm on). One of the three paired right away. The second took several attempts to get it to pair. The third took multiple resets and attempts to get it to pair. Now that they are all paired, the color on one is way off. I set all three to Red to indicate the alarm is armed. Two show as bright dark red, but one shows as a dim yellow. Searching on the internet there are lots of people who seem to have similar issues. Nothing I have done has been able to fix this. I will most likely return the one and try again with another one. Update: Ordered a fourth one. This one has the bright red light which is good, but came with a new issue. I have it running through Home Assistant but randomly it defaults to the embedded routine. Again a search on the net shows this can be a common issue which should be resolved by a quick press of the reset pinhole which will flash the unit red to show they are disabled. This will work for a few days to a week and then without warning the default routines will kick in again.

These nightlights are great. They're Matter enabled, plug-in and use Wifi. If everything in your smart home could be that easy. I'm controlling mine with Home Assistant, though they also offer a phone app if you're not into HA. Super easy to get them on my network and into larger automations. I have them in my downstairs and upstairs hallways with an automation tied to motion, when the ambient light is low, turning on all of the nightlights until 30 seconds after the motion stops. Excellent at night. It's enough light to get around without being obnoxious to other sleepers. I also put one in the bathroom above the sink as a motion nightlight that also triggers the hot water recirculation pump for two minutes. They've been rock solid so far. Since there are no batteries, they should last forever. Forever...

So the story goes that I have a currently 14-year-old cat that while not entirely going blind or anything, likes having company when she eats, and light too. It was getting ridiculous to turn on the living room so she could eat and I desperately wanted a night light that would switch in when detecting motion, and could stay in while she was in the vicinity. I also wanted smart features and colours. This night light brought it all. I’m only a few weeks in so far, but I’ll let you guys know how it goes! For the time being, both kitty and I are happy! And yes her eating has improved too!

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this light. First, some negatives, it's expensive and bigger than I expected. But I had no problems adding it to my Home Assistant Matter Server (python-matter-server). I have the light outside my home office and I have custom automations in Home Assistant where I can "Arm" the sensor. When Armed, the light goes Red and when disarmed, Biue and when disarmed, it acts as a regular night light. I even got it to send an alert to my phone if people approach while Armed. Just a really cool device that you can script to your liking. Just got it so not sure about how long it'll last but really happy with the device! I wish I could get more but it's a bit pricey but oh well!

Works well, it’s too bad that the app doesn’t let you set the sensitivity of the motion sensor, but overall connects and functions well.

Works great when you first install it. It stops working completely after a couple weeks being plugged in you have to unplug it for a while plug it back in sometimes completely. Reset it. You need a third-party app and a hub to update the firmware. It’s going into the recycle electronics recycling bin.

It's a nightlight.... Not much to say about that! But the fact it integrated with my home assistant.... It makes it 100 times better
