Weber 6466 Glossy Enameled Plancha for Grills

We have so far only cooked fish and pork chops on the plancha. We are very happy with the results as the meat is seared and very moist and tender. The result is far superior to cooking on the open grill. It is more work than the open grill as you have to remove and clean it. However, I don't try to get it spotless. I soak it in dishwasher liquid over night and scrub it lightly in the morning. The better taste of our meat makes the extra cleaning worthwhile to us.

The plancha from Weber #6466 is a well designed cooking grill for Weber gas grills. It is unique in its design as it slopes so excess cooking oil drain to a hole centered in the lower end of the griddle to the drain pan beneath the flavorizer bars. It minimizes flare ups and eliminates unneeded oil from the griddle. I have used the plancha perhaps a dozen times since buying. My experience with cooking bacon, vegetables, salmon, etc. has been fun and successful. The recipes I have used have been adopted from Lilane Otal's cookbook on Spanish-Style Grilling PLANCHA and my general cooking experience. Most importantly, the plancha is an easy to use tool that broadens the range of outdoor grilling experience. It allows cooking via griddle (plancha) and direct grilling on my Weber 300 series gas grill at the same time. My only negative comment on the plancha is that it is more difficult to clean the enamel surface than I would like. Weber needs better ideas for cleaning than their suggestion of using vinegar.

Popular in spanish cooking, a plancha is a flat griddle that fits on top of gas or charcoal grill grates. It's surface puts a good sear on meat, chicken, or fish and also prevents smaller foods from falling through the grates. The sloped surface directs fat away from the food and a small hole in its lower end let's the grease drip out into a grease pan. It is also enameled, which made cleanup a breeze.

The best grilling techniques for grilling the foods of Spain. When it's hot out, I fire up one of my many Weber grills, pre- heat the plancha and start cooking! Onions on the plancha are awesome!

Works as described. Some limitations in that it's like a big cast iron pan on the grill, does not absorb smoke from drippings thus it's like using a cast iron pan on a grill except for a larger area. Easy to clean because it's porcelain surface. Don't understand why they are more papular in Europe than our outside grills with slats . Only advantage is that one can fry like in the kitchen but without smoking it up.

Was recommended by a friend. Looks good, tastes OK. Verrrrry heavy. Not for all users. Not as easy to clean as stated.

Bought it as a gift for my husband and he loves it. Cleans up really easy.

Non-stick?? First time I used it, no scratchy items, it sticks like crazy. Think twice before buying this loser.

Wenn man es richtig benutzt (z. B. sehr gut und lange vorheizen), ist es ein tolles Teil. Passt super auf meinen Weber Genesis.Dazu passt ideal z. B. der Weber Pizzaheber. Den nehme ich gern, um auch große Fische zu wenden.

Correspond exactement à mes besoins, de très bonne qualité et très facile à laver ! Mon barbecue est à gaz la plaque chauffe parfaitement et uniformément.
