Great quality, works very well, stops insect pests in my coup
Quite expensive to buy but lasts a long time so quite good value I think and prevents any insect pests in my chicken coup

First Saturday Lime has worked incredibly well for us, especially in our chicken coop. We use it monthly to keep the coop fresh, dry, and bug-free, and it truly makes a noticeable difference. It’s easy to spread, settles quickly, and doesn’t have a strong smell, which I appreciate when using it around the animals. Since we started applying it regularly, we’ve had far fewer flies and practically no ants or other pests lingering around the coop. I also like that it feels like a safer option compared to harsher chemicals, especially with pets and kids around. Overall, it’s simple, effective, and has become a must-have for maintaining a clean, comfortable coop. Highly recommend!

The Insect Deterrent 20LB Bag markets itself as a monthly insect shield, promising multi-purpose insect control for outdoor spaces, with a focus on preventing ants and other common insects. After using this product, here are my observations. One of the most appealing aspects of this product is its claim of being a multi-purpose solution. The idea of using a single product to deter a variety of insects is certainly attractive, especially for those of us who prefer a simple approach to pest control. In practice, I found that the deterrent was indeed effective against ants, which were noticeably less prevalent in the treated areas. However, its efficacy against other insects seemed to vary. While it did offer some reduction in the presence of flies and mosquitoes, the effect was not as pronounced as with ants. This suggests that the product may be more effective against certain types of insects than others, and users should have realistic expectations about its broad-spectrum capabilities. The monthly application is another key selling point. The convenience of applying the deterrent just once a month is a significant advantage over products that require more frequent applications. This feature is particularly beneficial for busy individuals who may not have the time or inclination to engage in constant pest control efforts. In my experience, the monthly application schedule was generally sufficient to maintain a reasonable level of insect control, although I did find that heavy rainfall could diminish its effectiveness, requiring a reapplication to maintain the desired level of protection. In summary, the Insect Deterrent 20LB Bag offers a convenient and effective solution for controlling ants and provides some level of deterrence against other common insects. Its multi-purpose nature and monthly application schedule make it a practical choice for homeowners looking to simplify their outdoor pest control efforts. However, users should be aware that its effectiveness may vary depending on the type of insect and environmental conditions, and should adjust their expectations accordingly. Overall, it’s a solid product that delivers on its core promises, but with some nuances to consider.

With new hay bale deliveries in a small barn comes an onset of black beetles nesting under bottom bales stacked on pallets. Bought Saturday Lime, clean out old hay regularly prior to hay deliveries, sprinkle lime generously under pallets & haven't seen a single beetle all summer! What a relief! Works as described. Neutralizes odors in smelly horse stalls & in favorite urine areas too close to barn gate. Great stuff & safe for animals. One less annoying task to check off my list.

Yes, it seems pricey, but ... It's effective and it lasts a long time! I've been a customer for a couple of years. I sprinkle it and toss it liberally in my sand-based coop, particularly in corners and under roosts. I toss it into my chickens' favorite dirt-bath areas in the pen and around the yard (my chickens free-range). No insect problems in the coop, in the yard, or on the chickens ... even with wild birds and feral cats around.
