Yeah, I know. When you have a sewer gas leak, the first thing you check are the toilet wax (or waxless) rings. I checked every possible source in the house for weeks EXCEPT this seal because it was only a few years old. Finally blew smoke down the vent pipes and smoke boiled out of this seal. The problem seems to be that the blue part doesn't seal to the black part. Either way, didn't work for me, and in retrospect, I don't see why I thought it would.

These work great if you have tile floor with a sub floor and a lot flange. I highly recommend you try this
