Go Pack
As a loyal and devoted Lion fan cum imbecile it isn't easy to read about a team which has managed to get to a number of Super Bowls and have many, many winning seasons. While much of the country was trying to convince us a few years back that Dallas was America's team we in the Midwest have always known it was the Pack. Their whole essence from the frozen tundra to the fan ownership to the seemingly inexhaustible penchant for pulling the offering out of the fire have made them almost mythical.Packer stories have become the stuff of legends and parables. Vince Lombardi was a "daily communicant". Whether that or the sermon like lectures to his players set the tone way back when or if there is something about the true North that evokes a more spiritual nature is a topic for another volume but the fact is many of the players and Packer faithful are true believers especially as it relates to miracles. They have come to not only believe in but expect them. This devotional is as much Green Bay Packer history as it is a canon but it is all there. At just over 100 pages it has the flow which allows you to consume it in a single afternoon or take it a chapter at a time with your morning reading. My problem was I couldn't put it down but I know I will be reading it again and again and using it as a reference guide. In every game the Packers played there of course was another team. Whether it was Atlanta, Minnesota, Detroit or the vaunted Bears you find yourself logging into the memory bank for that day it all went down. And the author not only knows her Bible she knows her football. She attended many of the games, is a fan owner and has met and interacted with a number of the Packer greats. In fact there are some great words from Sara White (wife of the late, great Reggie White). Don't miss this one. 3* GIBO

Great devotional for Cheeseheads.
This was an okay devotional. If I was a cheese head I probably would have liked it more than I did, but since I'm not it was just okay. This truly is geared to fans of the Green Pay Packers, I thought it was just a fun title since the author is obviously a big Packers fan, I thought it would be more applicable to all football fans and it is in a way, but it does go into an in depth look at the Packers team and players and events that they faced. That being said I thought it was well written, and an interesting devotional, it just didn't hit home with me as much as I would have liked and while I found the devotionals interesting, I didn't feel like I learned or grew much from reading this. It was a pleasant read, but just not quite right for me.4 Stars

Just kept reading!
Bought several of these little books as "stocking stuffers". Thought it was a cute idea. When the delivery arrived yesterday, I sat at the counter to flip through....and remained at aforementioned counter for WELL over an hour just reading and reading this WONDERFUL little devotional, filled with interesting facts, touching stories, and God's true and everlasting word laced into every page. Ended up being 15 minutes late to rehersal for our church Christmas play. But at least I arrived refreshed and ready to get to work :) Thanks to the Lord and Judy DuCharme for "teaming" up to give Him honor and glory in such a creative way!

Wrecked my mom's surprise...sorry!!!
So as I gifted this charming book to my father this year for father's day a few days early...when I had my kids along to help gift it...I explained to my dad, that I looked through it and I wouldnt mind ordering another copy for myself because it looked great. Out of the corner of my eye I see my mother giving me a "LOOK". Naturally I have seen that "LOOK" before...and honestly...it could mean a bevy of different things. Later on...my mom said...DONT ORDER THAT BOOK!!! I JUST ORDERED THREE OF THEM SAME BOOKS!!! Whoopsi, like mother...like daughter? Dad LOVED the book about the Minister of Defense...may his soul rest in peace but his legacy be carried in our hearts forever!...Can't wait to get MY copy...lol!
