Gold standard affordable paints
We watched a video on YouTube recently where a well-known mini painter matched up literally every kind of paints he could get his hands on against each other, competition-style. With a couple dozen paints on the line, the whole thing came down to Reaper and another major brand being head and shoulders above the rest. Since we had a lot of the other brand already, my wife and I decided it was time to give Reaper a try.And Wow. Just Wow.Seriously, these paints are amazing. The color vibrancy, the flow, the...everything else! It's all amazing. The price comes out a bit higher per pot than the others, and I dislike Reaper's insistence that we buy entire color "families" at once, instead of just letting us pick and choose individual pots. But for sheer usability and end results, they're amazing.

Great for beginners
Excelent product and price. Case and paints are great for begining since also provide a storage solution. As a commplete beginner this are best quality paints I've used for minis, but if experienced may not be great, still are good for learning and price.

Best paint-only beginner kit out there
Id def recommend this set over any of the other kits that come with brushes and minis. The paint selection in this set is awesome and in general the "comes with everything" kits youre trading out paint selection for two or 3 not very high quality brushes and some random mini. So youre better off buying this paint set, and buying your minis and brushes seperately. With the colors given in this set, though you can mix pretty much any color you can imagine. Also comes with metallic silver and gold. The paint itself has great coverage and a good consistency right out of the bottle, no thinning needed. The set does not come with a varnish/topcoat, so as with all water based acrylics, you'll want to get a topcoat to prevent wear on the paint from handling once youve painted your mini. The set comes in a nice sturdy foam lined thick plastic carrying case, with plenty of room for additional paints. I was able to get the entire D&D Monster set by the Army Painter in the case along with the original paint, but that filled it up entirely. Still, thats a *lot* of room to expand your paint collection and store it safely.I highly recommend this set over any of the other beginner kits offered.

One of the easier 5 start ratings I can give.
I am new to painting minis, and wasn't sure what to get. Many kits didn't have enough paints to truly get started (IMO), but this one seemed to have the colors I was thinking of, and enough to get into the hobby. I had tried some acrylic paints we had in the house for my first attempt painting a BMW I had printed, and they worked "okay" at best. Just like anything else, if you don't have the proper tools things just don't work out as well as it could have. I friend recommended a $150 kit, and informed him I am just now getting started, and not even sure if I will like painting these miniatures. He linked me to these and a few others. I decided on these, and glad I did. The paint viscosity is great, they shake well in the bottle, paints my miniatures very nicely, and the colors are great for a beginner. The only downside is the case. It is passable at best, however, I see it as a "freebee" since these paints don't seem to cost any more than others without one. And does give you a place to store them, so do find it useful. BTW...enjoying painting these minis as it now seems like I have the right paints. I am not very good at it, but better than I expected.

Good variety, great paint
Easy to use. A great selection of colors to start with. Dries quick. Easy cleanup. Lasts. and thick enough to mostly only need one coat.

Decent starter set with room to grow.
My stepdaughter wanted to get into miniature painting, a hobby that I have been doing for many years. I have many different paints from different brands including reaper, citadel, army painter, and vallejo, but I thought it would be nice to get her started with something she could call her own. While the selection of paints in this collection is limited, you do get a good amount for the money spent. My favorite part about the set is the insert that has holes in it to organize your paints, and it has many more spots that will allow for eventual expansion. The paints provide allow for basic painting of a standard miniature, you likely won't be able to do anything extravagant with them, but it is a very good starting point for a fresh faced beginner.

Mixed Bag
The paints are hit and miss for me so far. Some remain watery no matter how hard you shake them, others are good but still need a few coats. The ones that mix well have great color and work well. On the positive, the case is excellent, the mix of colors is great, and Reaper's customer support was top notch. My set was missing the brown and they had it in the mail the day after I contacted them.

Great paintset!
This is my first paint set and i'd say it's the best i've found. I've used a few others since i've started painting, and i find these paints to be much thicker and can actually do proper coats of paint. Many other paints are too thin and you need to really paint a base, then color it with that paint. just a waste of time.Unfortunately my gold paint was dried out, so i couldn't use it, but over all this is the best bang for your buck.

Good acrylics at a way better price than those other guys.
You know the other guys I'm talking about.I'm no expert painter, and I'm not one to dig down to minutiae and detail... but I do know that I am not skilled enough to be able to get all picky about these paints. They work. Good coverage, good colours, great bottles. Case is nice, if a little flimsy... but it sure is handy. This is my first time dipping a toe into the world of Reaper Paint, and all I can say, really, is that it makes me sad to think about all the money I gave those other guys, over the years.

An excellent carrying case and a great set of paints
A great protective case for your paints collection, comes with only a small number of paints when compared to the spaces available. There are 36 slots for bottles, slots for brushes, and the case has an easy to use clasp. This means you only have 13/36 slots filled and can fill the extras in with your favourite paints.Dragon Gold from this set in particular is a fantastic colour for both loot and Dragons themselves, it really pops and shines.

Meh
Not really as expected. No brush and the foam is sort of jammed in there doesnt quite fit in the box. Paint seems ok. Adding up the value of each paint it ends up not saving you any money so just buy the single paints you want or kits that come with more than just paints. One that includes a figure or a few brushes may be worth the money but this is not really what I expected for my money. Might try a different kit before I fully judge
