Great product in all important aspects. But...
Sound: Best in the portable arena. Great for travel and also for the car (most cars have decent mids and treble but they lack base). This unit will solve it without being tied "only" to the car.Still not the best option for home, there is a said in the audio arena " a sub under 10 inch is not a sub", and this device is no exception (this is not about volume at all, but it can't be explained with words, you have to experience a 10inch sub even at low levels to understand what I mean ). But still pretty decent for home use (if you can't have a real sub). This device will make the difference between just listening music or really enjoying the sound.Look & feel: Brilliant. It feels premium in all aspects, and the sleeve is absolutely awesome. I didn't expect such a great design so it was a nice surprise.Audio compatibility: Amazing!. I was in doubt because I thought this device was overpriced, but this particular point was the very reason that made me click the "buy it now". This brand having their own speakers and not forcing you to use their own with the sub ? and in fact they make it trivial? no app or workarounds neccesary? Resisting the new Apple law to prosecute audio jacks at the cost of adding bluetooth latency, compression and connectivity issues ? ... that's very unique in the portable premium arena and it is the main reason I gave 5 stars. Even if it is not perfect in some other aspects this point is really a 6 star. A portable sub with standard in & out 3.5mm standard audio jacks and no obligatory bs., this is probably the only one. That is really what made me think: Uhm, there is a true audio guy in this company, they are not just tech hipsters, so I'm in.But .. yes there is a but,... the power connector...... why?In a 5V device in 2021 and at this price level it is almost unacceptable to not include a proper usb power connector (ideally usb-c, or at least a miserable micro usb). Instead they give you a 5V barrel without power supply and a ridiculous workaround in the cable for a weird usb with "PD" passtrough but no data ... They have invented a solution for a problem that didn't exist!, while creating other problems on the way.Come on at this price level if you say your device can act like a power bank you have to do it properly with a couple of usb connectors as everybody does, and those connectors only cost 1 pound. First thing because using standards cables is good for the planet, and second because accepting standard usb connections rather than a short Frankenstein cable would give us a lot of flexibility for charging and for the placement of the device , which in a sub it is an important thing, specially while travelling which is when you need to improvise those aspects all the time. Not to mention the inconveniences if we lose or break this absurd cable, which for most users it is just a question of time. But no worries nobody is perfect, and fortunately the in&out 3.5mm jacks compensates this point. So that's is a 5 star.

Great addition to any Minirig set-up
I purchased a Minirig speaker back in February and absolutely loved it; so much so that I recently decided to purchase another as well as a sub so that I could make a full 2.1 system.I had always been impressed by the sound that the individual speaker produced, but having a full 2.1 system just blows it out of the water. The bass that this tiny and lightweight sub can produce is just astounding and really compliments the speakers very well. While the speakers are very good as a stand alone, you simply don't realise how much a little bass improves the sound.I listen to a range of music and the sub really works well with all types. It has the power and brunt for bass heavy music but it's not overpowering when listening to less bass heavy music; it just provides a lovely warmth and fills in the gaps that the Minirigs can't quite reach.I purchased this set-up primarily as a portable system and due to its size/weight and vast battery life, it is more than capable of doing that. However, as a student I will be moving away from home to Uni in September and so I was looking for a replacement for my current hifi as I won't want to transport it every time I pop home. This set-up is more than adequate to replace my current system, both in terms of power and sound quality.I'm absolutely thrilled with my sub and two Minirigs and would recommend a full 2.1 set-up (or as much of one as you can afford) to anyone.

Great. Almost perfect
Step 1: Remember that we are talking about portable speakers that run off batteries.Step 2: Try to avoid comparing this device to $$$$$$$ stationary audio equipment.Step 3: Read on.Ok, So I've owned my first minirig for about 6 months and had nothing but good things to say about it. The sound quality is awesome, the battery life is unbelievable, and the build quality is superb and robust. If your objective is portable sound with no compromise (except wireless) then there is nothing out there that can compete... period. Now I have the sub (and a second minirig), and I can say that it is REALLY a great combination. The sound is really full and rich, and the bass is exactly what I expected after reading the specs. No, with a 3" woofer it will not break glass, but the bass is pretty damn good. Once again, I am a kid with a giddy grin on my face who must listen to every CD in his collection again. The detail is really surprising with this set - clean, full, and well delivered. It's truly hard to believe that a speaker that weighs about half a kilo can put out this much bass! RWAWR!!!! I literally have goosebumps.Given that you can connect the sub to two or more minirigs, and your only soundstage limitation is based upon your cable choices, you can acheive just about any configuration you could desire (and afford). On a desk, or in a field, you can customize the setup to your preferences. The versatility of these little sound pods is a strength. I can just imagine the next time I go camping and bust out this portable disco club. HAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!My only gripe, and it's perhaps inconsequential, is that there is no on/off switch. With one speaker I was able to slowly connect to devices and avoid that annoiyingly crisp crackle/pop that comes from sliding in a connection while the devices are on. But with the sub as the starting point, from which you then connect your other speakers, disconnecting one speaker causes pops in all of them. Also, if you connect/disconnect the charging cable while the device is playing music, you will hear yet another crackle/pop. My only worry is that these spikes may damage the devices, but so far I have had no troubles, so perhaps it's just my nerves and not grounds for a real complaint. Conclusion:If you want to have THE best portable sound, the kind that your neighbors and strangers will be jealous of, then pick up the sub and two standard minirigs. Your wallet will be much lighter, but your ears will thank you every time you turn these puppies on. Just try listening to laptop speakers after hearing this portable symphony --- if you can bear it.
