You can leave them on the wheel chair if you wish.

Q: Can this be used on anything other than a wheelchair?

Yes, it has very sturdy stretchy elastic and velcro in place. I actually used it on my mom’s wheelchair as hand restraints. Eventually, she was able to figure out how to release the Velcro with being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s since 2015-2016. Her thought process is still very keen/sharp.
