This is an effective alternative which is straightforward to install. The deep cone shape allows it to deform for a watertight seal against the bottom of the basin. The central hole is a tight fit over the waste tail and is internally ribbed to ensure there is no leakage past the threads. I will be using these for all my future waste installs. The instructions are on the plastic packet and a bit sparse. The kit includes a foam washer which I couldn't identify in the instructions and didn't use. Fitting is straightforward but because of the tight fit over the tail it does take a little effort to work it into position. However, this is easily overcome and wasn't a signifiant issue for me.
