There are 2 ends to these bits, one to drill and one to extract. Unfortunately, when using them on steel screws the drill end does not work and simply burns out. I ended up using my kobalt drill bits to make the hole. As for the extractor part of the bit, it does not grip. All it does is spin until it too starts to smoke as well. My new bits were fried in no time. In the end I could not use the replacement machine screw as intended, so I ended up using a lag screw inside of the original now messed up machine screw. This work around should work for a while until I can figure out a more permanent fix. Also, given that a few of the bits I tried out are now ruined, I can not even send them back to Amazon for a refund.

Nice bit set. Haven’t had much need for them yes (fortunately). The case is nice and compact and the bits feel well made and sharp. No complaints or issues, will update if I end up putting them to heavy use

I never have luck getting these things to work properly. No difference here, bought a dremel to cut into the fastener instead

These screw extractor bits have become one of the most convenient tool bits I keep in my tool bag. They are super simple to use but still provide a small picture description inside of the box if you don't already know how to use them. It's also worth mentioning that the little compact case they come in is another major convenience.I've used them for a little over two months now and have easily removed a few dozen stripped screws on my current housing projects with total ease. The bits themself are strong, and haven't worn down at all on any of the stripped screws I've removed, many of which were completely rusted out. I'm very impressed with how well they have held up so far. The different sizes to choose from is another great bonus.Highly recommend. Everyone should have these in their toolbox/bag. You will end up needing and using them more than you can imagine.

Open box and the main piece I need is missing..

At first, it was hard one me to get used to using it, I then got used to using it, and is actually becoming easier on me now to remove any stuck reviews. It's a small set and not big by all means, but gets the job done. I think the price is fair and somehow decent. Overall, I am happy with it.
