Required reading for all leaders
The Collins’ book should be on every organizational leader’s desktop alongside Good to Great and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. It should be required reading for board members, executives, and managers. It is a book for all employees who want to contribute to organizational (all organizational types), and personal success. The concepts ask the reader to begin with deep self-reflection to understand themselves and take steps to improve, then use the new knowledge to contribute to improving the organization culture and environment. This thought-provoking and practical book is very readable and organized for the ease of understanding and application. The authors assimilate psychology and neuroscience with contemporary thought and best practices on strategy and quality. They draw on examples of failure and success of well-known businesses and demonstrate why following the precepts in the book have lead to, in some cases, staggering success. As a former CEO of non-profit, for profit, governmental and higher educational institutions, I would have been a much better leader had this book been written and available to me years ago. I encourage all enterprise leaders to study, practice and apply what the authors have to teach us.

Excellent read for those seeking to build a value based organizational culture
Denis and Seth Collins have written an incredibly effective guide to building winning cultures based on strong, value based fundamentals. They begin with the "belief that any challenge could be transformed into an opportunity for personal & organizational growth". In making the case for why healthy organizational character is so critical to a company's success they show examples of the challenges faced by real organizations and the lessons we can learn from their successes and, sometimes, failures. The book comes with actual exercises that can help any organization work on building their core values and beliefs. It's an easy to read, well constructed book and I highly recommend it.

Wonderful resource for challenging leadership dilemmas.
Collins and Collins have crafted a guide with meaningful strategies and tactics for individuals and corporations. The focus is to build character in self and the company. The book filled with situational stories and practical solutions, as well as meaningful exercises and group activities. I was especially impressed with the “Emotional Awareness” and “Turning Awareness into Action” chapters. The text is well referenced and annotated, but a few tables, lists and graphs might have been helpful. Overall, enjoyed the message. Would make an excellent addition to any management library. Highly recommend without any reservations. Excellent value.
