Canon BCI-3e Black Twin Pack

Genuine Canon ink cartridges in a twin pack which cuts the price a bit. I hate to think how much I spend on printer cartridges (all the mainstream manufacturers seem to charge an arm and a leg for cartridges), but I would far rather buy these Canon originals than go down the "compatibles" route. I print a lot of business matter, mostly black and white, onto standard white printer paper, as well as printing high-quality photographs onto photographic paper, and have never had a problem with a Canon ink cartridge that couldn't be solved by running the Canon printer utilities to clear a blockage (which I have only ever had happen once).I used to buy these cartridges from an office supplier, but now that they are on Amazon, I find it cheaper and more convenient to use Amazon to buy them.

Next day delivery was fine, if expensive. The cartridges appear to be genuine Canon products. I would have given 5 stars, but when I opened the first cartridge to install it, it spilled ink all over my fingers. I hadn't shaken it or done anything untoward, just opened it as normal. Fortunately the ink didn't go on the pale carpet, but it has made a mess of my gold and sapphire wedding rings, thank you. Fortunately it is printing properly and seems to have stopped leaking now. Just hope I can get my jewellery clean.

The ink from Canon has always been reliable. The tanks last well in my printer (a steadfast ip5000) and having tried a couple of other big brands, I have to say my impression is always that Canon do the best graphics printers and inks for the home market. The larger tank capacity lends itself well to text printing, leaving the colours alone. Nothing worse that all three colours being used to make a black and costing the earth.

I have always doubted the reliability of substitute ink, and after almost nine years, my Canon printer still provides me with good service. Canon black ink always matches my requirements, and I hope will continue to do so.

Don't bother messing with compatibles or refills they may be cheap but they just don't work they smudge and produce poor results and gum up your print heads and you will end up with an expensive repair or worse. I've tried several in the past and learnt my lesson the hard way. Canon ink may be expensive but it really delivers results.

I always use genuine Canon ink as I feel the quality is so much better and the printer stays cleaner without getting clogged up, but it is expensive.

It's ink.It's black.It dyes things black (like paper).I don't know what more you could ask for, apart from more ink or a lower price. Will dry out after a few months of non-use in a printer (or after the seal is broken), as will any ink.
