Pick of the range for value, works well.
When you've had a really good product, sometimes all you want is to be able to buy the same again. This is the second 3000 series Philips shaver I've owned; the one I have just replaced with this S3241/12 was an essentially similar 'Williams F1' version I have had since 2010. The charger on the old one is damaged so I decided to replace it. Nothing wrong with the shaver at all. Further to its credit the battery is still good at 14 years - I should say I have had periods of beard wearing and ordinary wet shaving since so it didn't actually provide 14 years of full daily shaving! The new 3000 series is styled slightly only differently, and is fully waterproof for use wet or dry, unlike the old one which was simply rinseable for emptying/cleaning. Otherwise it is extremely similar, including the built in trimmer which flips out. The 'floating' heads are now called '5D Pivot & Flex' and the whole cutter assembly pivots on the body of the shaver, but otherwise appears to work exactly like the old ones. This is, if anything, reassuring as it is nothing if not proven technology. The new 3000 series shaver does provide a slightly better shave than its 14 year-old ancestor. In part perhaps due to being new, but the cutter guards have also changed slightly in that the new shaver's are just slotted, whereas the older model had both slots "for longer hairs" and holes "for short stubble" to quote the blurb.Charging on the new shaver is done with a special lead provided, which has a USB-A connector (like a phone charging cable) on one end and a Philips connector on the other. No actual charger is provided, presumably because it is assumed that we all have them (I do). I have just charged the new shaver from my laptop. It took maybe half an hour to charge from 1 blob to 3 (full). There's a whole new range of Philips shavers at the top end of the range now with prices rising into the hundreds of £. Styling on those is what I call "Dysonised", more technical-looking. Perhaps the venerable 3000 series will disappear at some point but for now, at about £60-£65, it looks like a bargain to me (the version I bought in 2010 cost £88 ).Recommended.Follow up: After 15 days use, it is about half discharged so battery endurance looks good. I have tried shaving in the shower using gel, which is OK but doesn't seem to make much difference to the result. Still happy.

Bought At A Great Price
So glad I chose this Philips Shaver, it give such a nice shave, a lot closer and smoother than other Philips shavers I've had in the past. I only bought this because I had to return a Remington that was awful, chalk and cheese comparing the two shavers. It's pretty quiet, glides over skin even in a dry shave, I'm assuming the upgrade to 5G rotary heads puts This above the standard 4G heads that Philips have used? I've just used it with shaving gel for a 'wet' shave, amazing! Even smoother and close with zero redness or burn, REALLY impressed! I was lucky to get this Philips S3000 at a heavily discounted price that took it to less than half it's RRP, very cheap considering the performance. Inside the box is the shaver, a usb charging lead and a head cover. No thrills, but there's also an option to register it with Philips for a free extended warranty and I've now got 3 YEARS Extended Warranty! 😎👍🏻

Almost perfect, but not quite
It's good, it does a clean shave and it doesn't hurt really, but it's not a 100% clean shave. It doesn't irritate the skin, so that's good. I expected it to be better.

Good clean shave, with plenty of battery life.
Having used a razor for such a long time, I was unsure which electric raid would suit me best. After much deliberation, I went for this one and I was not disappointed. The razor is very quiet, and gives a good clean shave in about 5 minutes. The pop out edge trimmer is useful for edging sideburns and catching the stray nose and ear hairs.Cleaning is a easy as a quick rinse under the tap, then leave to do dry.I have so far used the razor about 6 times, and there still seems to be plenty of battery left, so it's definitely a good tool to take away when needed. All in all, I'm very impressed and happy with this razor.
