It weighs somewhere around 4.5 lbs. which is pretty much too heavy and impractical to use to make a monkey fist. I'm 6 feet tall and have large hands, so a smaller size may be more appropriate for shorter people. They're surprisingly heavy, bringing to mind a teaspoon of neutron star material that weighs as much as the entire earth. They also never fail to amaze me at the level of human ingenuity that is capable of creating something so hard, yet also so perfectly smooth and spherical. I also have a pair of 2" hollow Chinese metal balls with bells inside them that I used for years, but now they feel oddly light and insubstantial compared to these solid metal balls. Those also inspire wonder at how they managed to get the bells inside of them without leaving a trace on the outside.
