Great little kit, kids loved it!
Great little potion kit, has been thoroughly enjoyed! My 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son both loved making the potions from the recipe book and making up their own. The 7 recipes in the book were good for giving them ideas for their own concoctions. It was useful that it came with 2 tiny wands, 2 spoons, and 2 funnels as it meant they could both do it at the same time with less bickering. We’ve done one session and still have loads of stuff left so will put it away and do it again another day. They particularly enjoyed putting the labels on and putting the bottles on the ‘shelves’ in the cardboard storage box. A few people have mentioned that is was smaller than expected - and it is small - but I actually think the size is great as the potion bottles and box can be easily stored. Not bad value given the amount of entertainment my kids have had out of it. The mystery potion is a one-use fizzing one. If you want to make potions that fizz then in recommend buying a big bottle of vinegar and some bicarbonate of soda, but my kids enjoyed this kit for the imaginary play / pretending to be a witch and wizard element.

Our favourite toy ever!
We had a wonderful time with this. It's one of the best toys I've bought for my two 7 year old grandkids and that's saying something :-D I especially like that it's not too 'girly' or pink and isn't offputting to boys. It's fun for both. It wasn't occult either, so suits most beliefs. The recipe booklet is perfect for getting started with and has nice, clear diagrams as well as text, so it suits reluctant readers as well as more competent ones. The 'ingredients' are imaginatively named and well presented. There were plenty of opportunities for the children to talk about what qualities they thought would be useful to have and the kit encouraged that. Mine made 'Unicorn training', 'Calm', 'Invisibility', 'Quiet' and 'Scary' potions as well as lots of others. The glow-in-the-dark ingredients were popular, but there was plenty of the glow star glitter left over at the end. Actually, there are quite a few remaining ingredients unused, which is a bonus. Nothing felt cheap or skimped. I did use a hand-held label maker to add a bit of a 'professional' look to the potions, but it's not necessary. There are cool blank labels in the kit to write on. I loved that there were two mixing bowls, funnels, scoops and fairy wands, meaning that they didn't have to share and could mix away without having to wait for anything. There were plenty of bottles (20) to sustain their potion-mixing activities for some time and inclusion of a few extra corks was thoughtful. I really appreciated the security tops on the colouring bottles, because it meant they needed adult help with a potentially messy part and didn't spill anything crucial. The fizzy mystery potion was fun too. The box contains a nice storage box for display of the finished potions. It's a very thoughtful feature because it kept them together and made them feel precious. Once the potions were made, the children used them in adventure games for days, carrying the box with them on a mission to defeat an evil teddy (apparently). I would definitely recommend the kit for children aged five and up, with adult involvement. It was educational, stimulating and above all, lots of fun. Everything about the set felt well thought out, as if it had been designed by someone who cared about children having fun and using their imagination. It's good value for the amount of enjoyment we all had.

Most loved present
Both my kids age 7 and 3 absolutely loved this set and got tons of use from it, sitting for ages, mixing up different colours and sparkly bits. The set comes with loads of little decorative bits and pieces and there are tons of variations of potions to make. Honestly, got tons of use out of this and will probably replace it when they have used all the bits up as it's so well used. Great imaginative play.

Perfect gift for kids
Both my sons have loved these. My eldest (aged 10) was gifted it first and thoroughly enjoyed making the potions, which made my youngest (aged 7) want it for Christmas! Both like making their own version as well as following the suggested potion recipes. There are lots of elements and you could easily add your own. A great gift for children.

Fun gift idea
Got this at Black Friday and it was such a good buy. Reminds me of making potions in the bath as a kid. The bottles are small but sturdy. There’s plenty to do and the instructions are super easy to follow
