I wanted to try jelly cup paints for ages and seeing the twin cup well sealed it as one of the reason I was hesitant was that they took up lots of space but 2 in 1 cup the space is essentially halfedConsThere were a few that were v hard to open but most were ok nothing a knife can't fixProsThe paint is great and there is lots of it (I saw a review saying about tapping the covers back on it's not needed they stay nice ages and if they do harden can be reactivated with water or himis special spray)I've only used them a couple of times (I have used cran dache gouche pans and watercolours) they go on super smooth and can layer or blend dry v quick really nice for art clubReally happy with them

I've used Himi gouache before and have no issue with the paint itself. Sadly I'm having to return this set as the twin cups are impossible to open. Very disappointed.

Wow this set comes in 48 colours. Very easy to use and the end result is so pleasing. These paints are soft and creamy and must be covered with the film after use. Each pot holds 12 g. Not as adaptable as Acrylics or water colour but perfectly adequate for papers and canvas. These are non-toxic too

I can't believe it—the paint has gone mouldy. How could this happen? Not happy.

Twin cup jelly gouache paintsI've been quite excited to try these paints, as I've worked with acrylics for years, these seem perfect for beginners to gouache.You get 48 gouache paint colours, at 12g each, which is good enough. Each one needs to be covered after using, to stop it drying up. My concern is, the lids are peel off, so I taped them back on afterwards, as I'm unsure if the storage case would act as a protective cover for the paints. It would be better if these were capped.The application seems as good as acrylic, except for a few things. This works with a good few papers, water colour paper, canvas boards, other thick types like this will work well. So it's not as adaptable as acrylic but still can be used with a variety of surfaces.The paint doesn't need to be layered as thick, now to be honest, the thicker you go with this, the more likely it is to crack but it's not necessary anyway, as the pigments are nice a bold, they apply well enough on the first layer.This leaves a soft, flat type of appearance, so it wouldn't be good for building up surface textures but dependant on your painting type, it could be perfect.I've found this is amazing for my style of painting, I create more bold, outlandish, cartoon, superhero type portraits with paint, so big colour blocks, this is perfect for that.So now I may have rambled on a bit, I'll get to the point, I would recommend it for beginners, worth having a play with, if you're wanting to try a new medium style.

When the box arrived it wasnt boxed or placed in a plastic bag. It was just in the box with other products. Though everything was perfect it was a tedious job to open the seals, at one point my nails were bending it it became a mess.But I have to say the paints are really good compared to my last gauche paints, and the paints glided on the page easily and the mixing of the paints were easily done. I can say these were worth the money , I am not a professional painter but love all the colours , easy to mix, love the white paint palette for mixing the paints. I am really happy with this product and would buy this to gift for others.
