Does the job
I have a store-brand sewing machine, and this works well with it. It's good quality, and has a strong magnet.

Too bulky
My Janice machine is plastic surround with only the plate being metal it’s in the way when sewing

The magnet is too strong
I tried this both on my Juki industrial and Brother domestic sewing machine. It worked fine but the magnet was far too strong (and a bit too big for my domestic one), so I used wide masking tape to cover the magnet (actually done it in 3 layers and it was still too strong, but at least this way it wouldn't damage the machine). The guide is adjustable up and down but not adjustable back and forth. I will see how it will work out when I put it in practice in my sewing projects but just not happy with the magnet being too strong. It seems to be suitable for mass production machines rather than home sewing. It will only attach to the metal and not plastic therefore may not be suitable for some domestic machines.
