This is a quality toy for the money. It does not break easily as some other reviews say.
I read the reviews for this product and several people claim they broke theirs the first day. I don;t know how, it is a thick plastic on the blades and the hilt seems very sturdy. If you're an adult just looking for a costume or display piece it's ideal, and the cheapest option. Even if you give it to a small child, if you just tell them to be a little careful and not smash it into concrete as hard as they can, you should be fine for normal play. There is a small plastic locking system to keep the blades inside, and maybe those little arms can break off, but it is very sturdy and a fine product. Maybe they meant the lights went out? I'm not going to smash mine and find out, but I'm telling you it's not flimsy and doesn't look or feel cheap. It's basically the same product I bought back in 1999 when Phantom Menace came out, except I'd swear this version is sturdier. Included are pictures of it lit up in a dark room, and a size comparison to two regular lightsabers I joined into a double. So trust me, I know these lightsabers, and this is a good one. EDIT: I know what they mean now, the end caps pop off if you pull the blade too hard. It's a simple matter to pop them back on, and properly align them to make the saber locks work. You could glue them in place if you really want to, or it makes it super easy to put in different blades if you want, as I am considering doing. The lights are rather dim. Still, for 15 bucks not bad, and it is meant as a costume prop, not a fully functional toy.

My son was so excited to get it and it is crap. do not buy this
junk! the lights do not work, the hole thing is cheap novelty. My son was so excited to get it and it is crap. do not buy this! I know there is not much to choose from but try one of the others. I am a electrician so it got the lights working by dissembling and fixing poor workmanship. wasted effort the lights are a sad, sad, disappointment. To save Halloween i crudely installed two led flashlights in the saber in place of the crap workings.

Fine product for the cost. Wouldn't pay more than this.
For the cost it's a perfectly usable costume accessory.Saber bladed pop out and fold back in. They are a bit stubby compared to how big the handle is, and the light on them is a bit weak. But it's a cheap kids toy, so don't expect too much.Probably won't hold up to and sort of battle. Not going to try it either.Literally just like any toy light saber you find in the store.

It was a good Darth Maul‘s lightsaver
It was really good I really enjoyed it but be Alerted this toy needs batteries for it to work but once you get the batteries the toy will be just like the actual real life thing

Part broke immediately but my son still plays with it a year later
My son was delighted-- until one side stuck a bit and his dad forced it out, and it broke. 19 minutes after it arrived. Too delicate construction or too rough dad? Probably both. Rest of toy has held up for over a year...

Doesn't light up but my son loves it anyway 😍 ...
Doesn't light up but my son loves it anyway 😍. Anything Transformers or Star Wars he loves it! A bit spends but I couldn't find it anywhere else & it was from Santa.

I read the poor reviews on here and I thought to myself
I read the poor reviews on here and I thought to myself, "How bad could it be?" I mean, my 5-year old wants to be Darth Maul for Haloween and my 2 choices in light saber appear to be this $20 one or a $50+ one...for a 5-year old that is going to move on, I am not willing to pay the price for the more expensive one. With that being said:This thing was underwhelming even though I was expecting a pretty terrible product. I can see how it will break easily, and the lights are so dim you can BARELY see them in TOTAL DARKNESS. Listen to the other reviewers...buy 2 regular light sabers and duct tape them together to make a double-bladed one...this thing really is a complete pile of you-know-what.

Got for my 5yr old. It's a good size for him. It lights up but dose not make noises. Plastic seems like a good material.
