Review: Best hammock for under $300 - I've owned a few hammocks, and have taken them camping regularly for a few years. They're great for backpacking or camping out on a long motorcycle ride. This is my favorite, and the best hammock I've owned. The hammock is strong, light, and comfortable. The net is quality, and was a lot stronger than I expected. The hammock is large enough to be comfortable and spacious, yet small enough to be packed efficiently. The lines to string up the net held very well on my last camping trip, and the hammock performed wonderfully, in combination with a tarp, when we were hit with a thunderstorm last weekend. I slept right through it. My buddy has an REI hammock setup, easily worth over $400, and fared worse than I did. He was, needless to say, impressed and angry. I like the pockets inside of the net, perfect for keeping a light handy without unzipping the net. Setting it up, you'll have a few considerations: 1. Grab a length of quality to rope to help give you some flexibility as to where you can set up. The lines it comes with are pretty short. 2. Grab a set of "Night Eyes" figure 9 caribeaners, it makes the set-up, and more importantly, the break-down a breeze. 3. Grab a poncho or a small tarp for the sun or rain. I usually string up a line of 550 cord above the net for the poncho, then twist a stick into the line on either side of the poncho to help divert water, so it doesn't travel down the line and into the hammock. 4. You're going to want a good quality sleeping bag in this. Hammocks are notoriously cold against the body.I bring my 20 degree sleeping bag, even when the nighttime lows are in the 70's, just in case I get cold. Trust me, you'd be surprised. Without something to wrap around you, anything below 70 degrees will get cold and leave you miserable without another option. 5. I usually set this up at about chest level to allow for settling. Make sure it is rigged up level, or you'll find yourself cramped into the lower-hanging end. I list these things because when these are properly set up, they are excellent. A great buy and well worth the price, this hammock comes highly recommended from an experienced hammock-packing camper. -Update: No problems at all, 15 trips in, and performing wonderfully.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the rope that comes with it sewn into place, or can I can I feed a different rope through each hammock end?**
A: It's not sewn into place, It's threaded through a loop and easily removable or replaceable.

**Q: Do you lay slightly crosswise and level in these like you do a Hennessey Asym? in otherwords, is your rear lower than head and feet or are you level?**
A: This hammock will lay just like a Hennessey, just keep the 30° hang angle and you can have a flat lay (shifting your head to one side of center and feet to the opposite side). This is still my camping hammock and enjoy every minute of it. Check out hammockforums.net for a WEALTH of info and some great people to talk to.

**Q: Are the ropes that come with it strong enough/long enough or should I buy separate ropes?**
A: The No See Um No More Hammock Bliss comes with 100 inches of 6mm climbing rope on each end. The rope is rated to at least 500 pounds. Many customers still purchase a set of tree straps to both protect the tree and allow you to hang from a greater distance. So you do not need separate ropes but you might consider getting tree straps if you are going to use the hammock between trees. We offer 3 types of tree starps - standard straps, XL straps or deluxe cinching straps. Whether or not you get straps really depends on how you plan to use the hammock. Hope that helps

**Q: I'm 6'5", would I fit?**
A: I'm 6'4" 280# and I had no problems fitting in it. My biggest problem was trying to get it high enough off the ground to keep from dragging. Would recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for the money
*by J***C on 9 September 2009*

Great hammock. Strong and comfortable. Very breathable, so if you're sleeping in it, and it's going to be cool, be sure to have extra insulation to sleep on and to wrap completely around yourself. Don't just insulate your bottom side. The net isn't very good at staying up and taught. Though the net sags, it still serves its purpose well. When your weight is fully in the hammock the sides wrap you up like a cocoon, so it's cozy. Because the material is quite slippery, there's a tendency to slide towards one end if it isn't tied level. Even when it is level there's a tendency to slide too far towards the center. So if you're a light sleeper, you might want to practice tying it off before heading on the trail! The little sack is great! The whole thing packs into a bundle about the size of a cantaloupe. I recommend this hammock highly. Bring extra rope and learn a few good knots. On my last trip I came up short and would have been in trouble if I didn't bring extra rope. This is probably obvious, but: be sure that the extra rope you use can be trusted to hold your weight. Also, there is nothing that comes with it to keep water out if it rains, so put a plastic tarp up over it. Other than that, all I can say is that it's a great way to enjoy luxury in the woods!
