They adhere to the wall firmly and the clip holds the curtain quite well. However, only the second time I needed to release the clip, two of them broke. If you don't anticipate needing to open and close the clips often, I would say go for it. I have 1" x 1" tiles on my shower wall and they fit perfectly on a tile. They look alright, they are clear so they don't stick out much.
