Good quality - use these to keep your boots from shrinking
Good quality, these are better made than the ones that I bought in a Western wear store for more money. I wear a size 10 - 10.5 depending on the boot style, and have two pairs of boots, one a 10 and one a 10.5. I ordered the Men's Large (10.5 - 12) and they fit the 10.5 boots nicely but I can't wedge them into the 10's, so I guess they run pretty true to size- be aware of that if your size is right on the border between large and medium. It's important to use trees with cowboy boots as the moisture from your feet can cause the leather to shrink over the top of the foot after you take them off. This can make them feel tight and difficult to get on and off. Spring-loaded trees like these help to prevent this and also keep them fresh. They may help to stretch out your boots if they have shrunk, I don't think that they will stretch them past their original shape, though. There are sprays and leather conditioners that you can use to assist in stretching if that is what is needed.

Great product. I used them to actually fit em!
I just bought these to not only hold the shap of my new boots ... but to correct a fitting problem. IN BOTH boot, the top of the foot was TIGHT and the boot fit a little tight everywhere and was VERY hard to put on and take off (even with a boot jack). I knew in time they would fit well. BUT I want a "break in" short cut. That is where this product came in. I took 2 boot socks on each fitter. The first was put all the way over each one and the second was put over only the front section. I sprayed the top and heel of the fitters With a 75% water and 25% rubbing alcohol solution until damp .... AND jammed them in! 2 day later, took them out and PRESTO broken in boots! They fit perfect AND went on easy and come of with little effort. Now NO boot is actually broken in until you wear them. So after a day walking a bunch, I discovered a small hot spot on the right instep (where a side seam was). So I took the fitters with one sock (that's how I store the boots) and got a wash cloth, dampened it and JAMMED (don't be shy PUSH it) it into the boot on the instep and did the 2 day thing again. As hoped .... hot spot GONE! Will it work on yours? I don't know, but these things are so cheap why not give em a try! BTW I bought mine ... how freebie here!

So far so good.
**Update: after 3 weeks of use I'm torn. I like that they are keeping my boots from creasing however, they stretch out the vamp! My boots use to fit perfect and now they are looser on the top of my foot and i am not happy! My favorite boot now slip on and off more than i like. I am changing from a 5 start review to a 3 maybe even a 2. I really wanted these to work but now I'm afraid to keep them in my boots for any length of time. Do you have a small size boot tree?So far so good!! I was worried about them stretching out my boots becuase i wear a 7.5 and these fit up to a 9. But so far they haven't stretched at all.

Nice quality, but not quite as much range as other brands I've used.
Nice quality, but not quite as much range as other brands I've used, which can affect use in really narrow boots or boots at the smaller end of the size range (in my case 12AA w/ a stretched instep, so the tree size Large is too small, and thus need the XL size tree). However, I was able to make a simple modification for - so anyone who needs more range and is a little handy can increase the range - remove the screw on the side of the heel piece to release the spring & shaft, then remove the spring & shaft. Be careful not to drop the spring! Then increase the depth of the hole in the heel piece as much as needed using a 1/2" Forstener bit or similar 1/2" wood bit that will result in a fairly flat bottom. I think I drilled it about 1/4" deeper and that was just enough.

Best Boot Trees Available!
Best boot trees one the market so if you own quality western boots and want them to last for decades, keep these trees in them until you wear them again. Makes 10 year old calf ropes look like new every time I wear them, ostrich & caiman square toes too - yes, these work just fine on square toes or round toes.

Nice product for future use
These boot shoe trees seem well made I was not able to use them, but it was not the fault of the trees. I ordered them for a pair of 10B Allen Edmonds chukka boots, but they were too big even though medium is normally the right size for 10s. I then tried a pair of medium trees that fit perfectly in a pair of AE shoes, also 10B, and they were too big also. I had to buy a pair of small trees for the boots. So I will keep this pair for future use.

Great fit and value
I've had a pair of cowboy boots for about 4 years but as I've gotten older and my feet flatter they are a little tight in the toes. I've had plastic shoe trees in them but that just never did the trick. These are great. They go in and out easily, are shaped for boots, and they put just enough pressure on the toe area. When I'm feeling country I can put my boots on and comfortably wear them all day. Happy I bought these.

Just enough to stretch my heel in my Milwaukee motorcycle boots
I've been dealing with one of my boots not fitting right since I got them, and that heel has been harder to get on as they get worn in. I finally bought a boot 'horn' to get them on and now this to stretch them gently out, so I can wear more comfortable socks while riding. I was skeptical at first but they really did have to be pressed into my size 7 boots and have enough pressure they will help me out in no time. Also the cedar is nice, you can just refresh it anytime by sanding a little off where the stretching doesn't count.

Best boot tree EVER!
I was looking for solid foot trees for my tall English riding boots because even with shapers they tend to fall over the front of the ankle, especially with field boots, which are laced. These trees are beautifully made, with lovely tapered toes that won't stretch where you don't want them to stretch. They slip into the boot easy as pie and the leather loop doesn't make taking them out a wrestling match. And they smell divine! Totally worth the price.
