GitzoTraveler Tripod - Compact, Foldable and Light, with Short Column Included for Ground Level Shoots - Series 1 - 4 Sections - Carbon Fiber - GT1545T Black

It been 20 years, since the last time I bought a tripod. It was also a Gitzo and it still work. But I want lighter and smaller tripod to carry around.The GT 1545T not only smaller but quicker to set up . With G-locks and anti rotate legs which my old tripod do not have. It much easier to use. Easily hold the my Nikon and Mamiya cameras. Yes it a bit pricey but Gitzo tripods can last along time.

I was originally going to re-use my existing ball head and so bought this Gitzo tripod (rather than the kit version with included 82QTD head) - MISTAKE. Whilst any standard ball head will function perfectly well, the plate at the top of the tripod where the head attaches is very narrow and if your ballhead is wider than this it will stop the legs folding properly and being as compact as intended. I returned the tripod and bought the kit version with the specially designed Gitzo head instead - more expensive but if you're spending this much on a tripod then (a) you can probably afford it and (b) it's not worth spoiling it for the sakeof the extra money.Gitzo Traveller is obviously very expensive. Is it worth it? It's no better made or sturdier than any other decent tripod from the likes of Sirui, Benro or Leofoto .....but for me it offered the best combination of height, weight and compactness and was worth it to me for those reasons. If those things aren't important to you then there are less expensive options available

photography, especially long exposures shots or night shoots

A great medium sized Gitzo Traveler series tripod for situations where you either don't need a head or wish to use one of your own, the compact 180 degree folding legs and light as a feather Carbon eXact tubes make it particularly superb for travel. Expensive, I know, but a world apart in terms of quality compared to lesser brands.

Leggero, robusto e soprattutto stabile. Costo decisamente elevato ma il prodotto è ben fatto e soprattutto stabile. La sezione massima delle gambe è di 25mm ma è più stabile di cavalletti con gambe da 28mm più economici (cinesi). Da accoppiare con una testa a sfera di qualità per non vanificare la rigidità di questo Gitzo. Per la fotografia di paesaggio consiglio di comperare le punte in acciaio (non in dotazione), da sostituire a quelle in gomma, inutili e deleterie su superfici come terra, erba, sassi, roccia sabbia... Non è necessario acquistare quelle originali, quelle cinesi con filettatura 1/4 di pollice (consiglio lunghezza 8 cm) vanno bene.Probabilmente la sezione superiore delle gambe andrebbe ricoperta con nastro per racchette da tennis o per manubri di biciclette per proteggerle e favorire il trasporto quando fa freddo.La colonna centrale aumenta la versatilità del treppiede, è ben fatta, ma ovviamente quando è estesa diminuisce la rigidità dell'insieme. Un compromesso fra comodità d'uso e altezza raggiungibile.In alcuni casi non si può fare a meno della estensione della colonna centrale, ad esempio se si scatta su un pendio, l'altezza da terra è limitata dal dover livellare le gambe del treppiede, anche alla massima estensione lo sviluppo in altezza della colonna centrale è indispensabile.Vi sono configurazioni di altri produttori che permettono una compattezza (da chiuso) superiore e un peso inferiore (Es. Ulanzi Coman Zero, Peak Design) ma non le stesse prestazioni.Attenzione, è difficile che un cavalletto dia problemi in condizioni ideali: superficie piana e rigida, mancanza di vento e di qualsiasi altra sollecitazione esterna. I problemi sorgono nelle situazioni reali dove basta un po' di vento, o la necessità di mettere le gambe in un torrente, per vedere la differenza fra un cavalletto e un trespolino.Il Gitzo GT1545T regge full frame e obiettivi impegnativi (70-200 f 2,8) in condizioni reali senza problemi.Da non sottovalutare l'assistenza Gitzo e la disponibilità di ricambi a vita.Costoso, ma consigliato

I needed a good tripod to travel with. My go-to Manfrotto was just too big to easily fit in my carryon and it was heavy enough that I didn't ever want to carry it around with me. This is a great size but still very tall. It's also very stable. Fits in any bag I've tried... Honestly if you're considering these legs just get them.

Im November 2017 habe ich dieses Traveller-Stativ Gitzo 1545 T mit dem Stativkopf Kitz GH 1382 TOD und der Transporttasche Gitzo GC 1202 gekauft zu meiner Canon 5D Mk III, nachdem ich mit dem Vorgänger-Stativ nicht so zufrieden war (billiger aber immer irgendwie ein wackeliger umständlicher Behelf). Das Stativ ist erstaunlich leicht, trotzdem sehr stabil und wirkt wie für die Ewigkeit gebaut. Für mich genau die Grenze an Größe und Gewicht für unterwegs und die endgültige weil passende Lösung für die Stativfrage.

This tripod is light, sturdy when set up, very compact then closed. It is everything you'd want in a set of travel tripod legs. The reason I rated it only 3 stars is that, for the high price, it has a really cheap looking plastic mechanism for setting the angle where the tripod leg stops. It just doesn't look like it will hold up under use for long. I guess only time will tell... I have paired these legs with a sturdy, but lightweight, Arcatech ball head.

it is the best tripod ever -light and carbon strong.
