Michael McDonald is an acquired taste for some and for others like myself he is just spectacular. As much as I appreciate having this concert on Blu- ray, this is the 4th Soundstage to be issued by Michael McDonald an again we get a cut down version of the show. I wish we would get a full 90 + Minute concert with additional bonus material Perhaps interviews of rehearsal footage. I know of at lease 2 additional songs that should of been on this Blu- ray 1.Honest Emotion (From his new CD "Wide Open) 2. Hail Mary (Same), in fact the back of the CD/DVD Combo or this Blu Ray shows the song on there, but it is nowhere to be found on the concert. The bonus tracks are from the other Soundstage shows. At least they could've added the songs that did not make those shows. The sound quality is very good, good separation, especially if your playing the DTS-HD Lossless audio. The PQ is very nice HD quality. My only compliant is it is not long enough. I am going to try an contact BMG or WTTW Soundstage to find out why Honest Emotion is not on the disc even though it shows it on the track listing. Wide Open is a great CD, I was just hoping there would've been more songs from that album on this show. Besides me wanting more, the price alone for " If You Really Wanted To Hurt Me" is a nice jam and groove. Also where is "Here To Love You, The Doobie Brothers Classic,Michael's band is nice an tight and is joined by his wife Ms. Amy Holland McDonald as one of the background singers, as well as some lead vocals on other songs if you have seen the Wide Open Tour 17 and 18...Keep rocking Michael, your a class act and to me no one does it better. Peace, Mike Sippie

TEN stars!!! It's not unusual to always be impressed!
I am in parts blown away and nostalgic about Tom's new BR disc, which has excellent sound and picture. He was 76 when he recorded this. I own over 900 concerts, and I have quite a few where singers have not aged well, and their voices have diminished with the ravages of time. Not Tom though - the power is still very much there, and he can still hit the high notes, and that's the first reason why I love this concert. The second is that his backing band is quite marvelous. Every note hit with restrained perfection, and the arrangements very modern - reminded me of the arrangements by T Bone Burnett on Robert Plant/Alison Krauss's "Raising Sand". Alison herself is present in this concert for 3 duets was her usual melodic collaborative best, she is an angel! The third is the song selection - just a perfect mix of old classics and some amazing new songs of which I was quite oblivious. I will treasure this for ever, and I am ordering a new one as a back-up in case it goes out of production. Thank you Tom for moving and inspiring us.

Amazing longevity, still a great voice and a fantastic recording
This is simply superb .Bought it almost nostalgically as hadn't been any live recordings of his for some time and was simply blown away .This bluray is magic. He is in fantastic voice, the backing band is one of the best I have ever heard [although they don't smile !!!!] ,the picture and sound quality played via a 4K upscaler [Panasonic] incredible ,and the music selection very good ....a mix of refreshed old and new .Maybe a little melancholy and certainly reflective at times in the song selection but suits the setting and the voice .Mature not poppy is probably the best simple description .My wife and I loved it and have shown it to many others who are both surprised and delighted by the concert. His voice had absolutely stayed with him when many other names are are "passed their best "Ron

Still Great
The test of a great artist and concert disc to me is whether you enjoy the performances of songs you’ve never heard before. Tom Jones delivers all that and more in this great show from the Soundstage series. He still clearly loves what he does, and his voice is still a powerhouse. Perfect pitch, with a strong backup band, and a nice guest appearance by Allison Kraus.Get this - you won’t be disappointed!

Fall out of my chair fabulous CD!!!!!
I was never a super TJ fan but grew up watching his TV show and appreciated his voice and talent. That said, this CD is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! I saw the performance on PBS and couldn't believe the songs he was doing. Much better than the old stuff. LOVE the gospels songs so much! Love his duets with AK. He's revamped the oldies and they are much better than the originals. Every song is great. I was mesmerized by the performance. The man is 70 I believe and his voice sounds better than ever, if that's possible. I can't stop listening to this CD. I'm now a major TJ fan. Get this CD. You will be blown away by his voice.
