What could have been dry subject matter was instead entertaining and informative.

This is, in many ways, well trodden territory, but handled here with sensitivity. In a world that seems to be increasingly intolerant its a good reminder of the struggles people had to endure- not that long ago- to overcome prejudice. The fact that the story is true lends it gravitas but it is well worth the watch as a drama in and of itself. I particularly loved the adorable Dan Stevens being obnoxiously slick and smarmy, and Josh Gad- who should really be a much bigger star than he already is. Recommended.

This film is excellent. So well written, directed and acted. Fabulous narrative and one that everyone should know. Strongly recommend! Chadwick Boseman is - as always - outstanding!

Heartfelt and soul stirring film.

I loved it. This man Chadwick Boseman was an absolute legend. He was very much an upper coming actor and could well have eclipsed with Denzel Washington if he had lived. It was a good film.

A flawed film about a fascinating individual. The film focuses on an incident from the early career of Thurgood Marshall, the African-American lawyer who worked for the NAACP, and became famous for his role in the civil rights' movement. He won the famous case to end school segregation and went on to become the first African-American supreme court justice. This film has some reasonable performances but somehow falls flat, again an issue in part with scripting, and perhaps directing. Thurgood Marshall was such an interesting and accomplished individual whose role in history is worth knowing about, but sadly this film doesn't make that clear. However if you don't know much about Marshall and you enjoy courtroom dramas then this is worth a try, but the great biopic of Marshall is yet to come.

A great movie that wasn't promoted very well so didn't do great in the box office. Well worth purchasing to support black history and some great performances to boot. This should be in your collection.

Enjoyed this one. Now .. you wouldn't think that one (Mr. Boseman) who looks nothing like the character he is playing would be able to pull this off so well. But of course that is tribute to the acting skills of one Chadwick Boseman! He did a very good job in this movie. For those already familiar with the life and times of Mr. Thurgood Marshall will be pleasantly surprised by this portrayal. Those you don't know anything historically about the character... sit back and enjoy... for you may just learn something about this ground-breaking champion of a man... Mr. Thurgood Marshall
