I couldn't find any instructions on what orientation (face-up/face-down) the slot was. Even using a lighted magnifying glass and a jeweler's loupe couldn't see inside the slot well enough to make a determination. For my use, I don't really need the extra memory. After MS updates, the pre-installed memory was almost full, so I deleted the windows backup folder to reclaim 50% of the memory. It is a little bit of a pain because admin must take ownership over that folder and all subfolders away from trusted installer before being allowed to delete. ### ⭐ Beware of the inferior BIOS and W10 repair/reset problems. *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2018* It was 5 stars for 3 months. Then it died suddenly. I just disvovered that it's guaranteed only for 6 months. I'm sure none will survive past that point. The reason is that, it has a very limited BIOS possibilities, and windows 10 repair or even reset options don't work.Stay away from this item. In case you have the smallest windows problem, eventually the tablet will go to the waste basket. The inquiries to the supplier are not replied to, and 6 months passes quickly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would purchase from this vender again :) *by C***2 on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2018* No issues so far. I found out my teens are getting laptops from another family member, so I guess this one is mine to keep.
