Finish First: Winning Changes Everything Hardcover – February 6, 2018

I love to read and this is without a doubt one of the best books I have read. Scott is able to weave personal stories into practical advice without coming across as being preachy. His humility and desire to help people become the best versions of themselves is evident in his writing and the way he lives his life. He is spot on about how not allowing our children to fail puts them at an enormous disadvantage. We will all face pain and struggles in our lives; it is in choosing a "fixed" mindset or a "growth" mindset that we set our course. Scott has chosen the latter and it has made all the difference.

The book arrived quickly and in perfect condition. No complaints here!

I have had this book on my kindle for months. I'd start to read it and then would get distracted. This time I vowed to complete the book and WOW, talk about timing. Scott reached into the heart of who I am as a person, my dreams, goals, and aspirations. His personal stories touched me and made the chapters very relatable. I'm so thankful to God and to Scott for writing this book. It has inspired me to WIN, because winning is not just for me!!

The message of striving to finish first is so important but the interwoven stories of Scott's journey is equally impactful. I've already bought a copy of the book for my father, my husband and my son as it's applicable and enjoyable to people of all ages and a must-read that will be a fixture on my bookshelf. Congratulations to Scott for once again entertaining, inspiring and encouraging us, as he has time and time again on the ice and then with his ice skating commentary.

Disappointing read. Maybe I just expected more before I read it. I realize Scott has had his struggles and he is an amazing competitive skater with a lot of accomplishments. There is some inspiration from reading this book but I didn't find it original. He does reference religion throughout the book too which I felt was unnecessary to get his points across. Some of the examples he uses are the same examples found in Simon Sinek's Start With Why which I found to be a much better read.

Loved reading about Hamilton's struggles and his encouragement to us all to perservere.

I have the privilege of calling Scott my Friend I met him many years ago.....he is a loving caring indivual with a heart of gold. Many of the memories he shares I already knew.....He has been through heck and back and "Takes a lickin' and come back tickin" as the say Well worth the read well done Scott excellent as always.
