Q: How on earth do I turn the alarm off? I’ve read the instructions and it’s not working.

If the alarm clock rings, click any button on the left of the alarm clock to turn off today's alarm clock. If you want to permanently turn off the alarm function, click "-" to turn on / off the alarm.

Q: I have “on” selected to auto dim, yet there is no change when room darkens. What am I doing wrong?

The "On" you selected refers to the alarm clock function and not an auto dimming of the displayed clock. There is no auto dimming available for this clock. You can however, set it to high, medium, or low. Hope this helps.
