One of the best block clocks I have seen. Don't pass this up!
I am not new to block clocks. I first discovered these wooden-style clocks several years ago. I own one that has lasted well to this day. A friend of mine bought this black model. After seeing it at his home, I immediately fell in love with it and ordered one for myself. It looks as great in person as it does in the picture. The clock comes with a power cable and an adapter plug. Before you plug it in, insert 4 AAA batteries in the rear casing so that if you lose power, you don't lose time and functionality. Someone complained about the cheesy look of the back cover. While I agree with that assessment, I don't understand the problem. You aren't displaying the back of the clock. Setting this clock up is easy, but it takes a lot of fidgeting. I got more help reading the Amazon product description than actually reading the instructions. It's pretty much a long press on the SET button and then using the up and down buttons to adjust time, year, date, etc. Be careful to leave the alarm functions blank so your clock doesn't start ringing -- that is unless it's your intent to set alarms. To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit (the default is celsius), simply short tap the up button once. Here is something you really want to do.... Have your clock alternate displays every few seconds. You can get time/humidity/temperature on one screen and then it switches to year and date. That's a lot of information the clock can provide in two screens instead of jamming it all into one. The clock also has three luminance settings. I left mine on high though you can have it automatically dim during certain hours of the day. There is also voice functionality, which quite frankly, I have no use for. I just want a handsome timepiece that is not only handsome but can be seen from across the room. This black wooden clock fits that bill perfectly. Highly, highly recommended! This should be your first choice for a quality wooden clock.

Cute and simple, just like it looks in pics

Good looking clock, but a little fiddly to set up.
What do I like? Mainly the way it looks. These are nice clocks for a desk or pretty well anywhere where you want something that looks noticeably better than the usual, utilitarian digital clock. I have two of these - one black and one bamboo, and they both look very good with the white display. Now the wood look is, of course, fake, but it is a very convincing fake. It is a cool look with the numbers seeming to shine through the wood. From the front and the sides it looks VERY good. You can adjust the brightness and it shows temp and humidity along with the time. Both the temp and humidity readings appear to be reasonably accurate. What don't I like? The controls, the back, and the proprietary USB cable. Unlike the front, the back of the triangle is just ugly and kind of cheap looking, with a huge black plastic battery compartment and the very basic, small control buttons taking up most of the back, along with the place to plug it in. So this is a clock best placed where you can't see the back of it. This design would be greatly improved if the battery compartment / setting buttons were on the bottom, with a discrete USB plug on the side. As for the controls, there are three buttons - set, up and down. Those buttons have a lot of functions packed into them, some of which are fairly intuitive and some of which are not. Setting it all up turns out to be a bit fiddly. Now it is nothing wildly complicated, but this is not a clock for the technologically incompetent. I am not the kind of guy who normally would need instructions to set up a clock, but trust me when I say you will have to review and save the instructions for this thing. The fiddly nature of the controls means this could be a bedroom alarm clock, but best for people who don't alter their schedule much. If you are the kind of person who gets up for early meetings or to catch a flight or whatever and so has to change the alarm setting on your clock often, then this is not the clock for you. Yes, there are three alarms you can set, and you can control whether they go off 7 days a week or only on the weekdays, but you are not want to going to scroll through all the menus to adjust the alarms on this thing - the interface is just too clunky. This is a clock that you want to set once and then never touch, not something you want to be fiddling with constantly. Again, think more desk clock/living room clock, etc. It could be your bedroom alarm clock, but there are better choices out there for that. Finally, they cheap out on the USB cable, it is a weird little proprietary cable, fairly short, that you have to use. A standard plug on the back that would allow the use of any USB cable would be much better. In theory you can run it just on batteries, but then you basically have to set it so the display is off most of the time, unless you make noise or touch the clock which brings it to life for a little while. Otherwise it will likely rip through the batteries fairly quickly. I leave mine plugged in, using the USB wire and adapter they provide.

Sets up quickly, easy to read at a glance.
Well made, intuitive and great looking clock. I own 4 of these. I've had several incarnations of this type of 'wood' clock over the years. This brand is the best so far. Sets up very easy, love the dimming wheel and the temp and RH% make this ideal for my home, office den and garage.

Nothing makes any sense
Name of item is "Smart" LED digital clock, but it doesn't connect to WiFi and/or an app. The process of setting it up reminds me of my alarm clock from 35 years ago. Temperature and relative humidity are wrong, and it isnt clear how the clock would even get this information. Can't turn off the alarm's beeping without actually switching the alarm to the 'off' position in the back. Why does it display the temperature underneath the relative humidity? - most people care more about the temperature. Why does the date show the year prominently with large numbers and the month/day with small numbers? Why is the relative humidity still displayed with the date, and why is the month/day displayed underneath the relative humidity? Looks nice, but the functions and display were not well-thought out.

More complicated than it looks
I bought this alarm clock on the recommendation of the NYTimes "wire cutter" newsletter. It was billed as a simple design that is timeless and fits in any decor. All true. HOWEVER -- the battery box is almost inaccessible (needs one of those eyeglass size screwdrivers to open). There is a plug in option, but the cord is short. The instructions are not very complete and the options are odd. For example there are SEVEN different levels of brightness you can set for the display. Seems to me that 2-3 would be enough. The display is on if you set it up that way, but there is another option which is sound activated. I can't imagine clapping my hands in the middle of the night just to see what time it is. The time is well displayed (when on), and there is also a temperature and humidity report to the right.

Solid clock that will last.
The clock is bright and solid. With a nice wooden finish that turned out to be nicer than what the picture showed. The USB cable and charger it comes with is also standard and works well. I have to say the fact that it does not have batteries is a disappointment, because the wall can sometimes go out. But since there is one of those C2025 to keep an internal clock, it will still be accurate right after an outage. The sound function works surprising well, would be better if it has an auto schedule to turn on or off though. Right now I am doing that manually. Lastly I want to mention the auto brightness was not quite useful since I don't see it work. But you can always adjust it yourself.

zero display option
For sleepers that need it very dark this is the clock for them. Just a tap on the table or a voice command and the display shows for a few seconds.

Not battery operated
Very disappointing that product need to be connected to power grid. I was expecting a battery operated clock.

Not as described
Be careful. The one I got is only one alarm and I cannot change between Farenheit and Celcius temperature display.

bad
bad experience, the description said the source of power is the battery but I figure out the clock should be plugged in a wire

Nice Clock
This is not your ordinary looking alarm clock. It shows the temperature and the humidity as well. The alarm is only a beeping noise which is quite loud. My daughter only uses it for the clock because of the loud beep.
