Aside from the directions, this safe is great. It took a few minutes to figure out how to remove the security cover to access the key hole. The directions tell you where it is but now how to remove it. The directions for setting the fingerprint scanner were only slightly more helpful. Once all that was figured out everything worked well. It was easy enough to set a custom keypad combination however. It includes 4 AA batteries and an external battery pack in case you need to use the code or fingerprint scanner and the internal batteries are dead. The key works without batteries however. This thing is solid and very heavy. Great for important documents, keeping weapons secure, etc. Like most safes this size there is no way to bolt it to the ground.
