Fast CAT 6 Repair
A groundhog chose to gnaw through my outdoor CAT6 cable at a point where it was exposed above ground. Running a new cable would have taken the better part of a day. I used this junction box in conjunction with a waterproof outdoor box to splice the wire properly. The terminals are standard 110-block style and I used a standard 110 punch-down tool to punch the wires in place and cut off the excess. Wire colors are marked for either 568A or 568B standard. Since each of the 110 connection blocks are mounted to a circuit board, one would assume that the CAT6 speed throughput is minimally compromised as a result of the repair. I noticed no degradation in performance. This junction device did the trick and saved me a dreaded cable replacement.

Good junction box.
Good junction box. Much more reliable than using quick connect couplers when extending cat5/6 cable length. Seller gets an A for fast shipping too.

Missing zip ties
Product info states there are 2 zip ties per connector - wrong - only a single one per each.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
I had to connect 300 feet cable and 5 connectors in between and this worked the very first time without any issues. Very easy to install and worked perfect without loosing any signal.

Effective way to splice Cat6 cables
Would I use these in a commercial environment? Maybe not. But, for home use these allowed me to effectively re-route some Cat6 runs without needing to pull entirely new cable from the patch panel. They seem sturdy and effective and as far as I can tell, there’s no signal loss or quality issues. For commercial use it’s probably better to do the job right and pull new cable. But if you need to splice new cable into an existing job in a non-mission-critical environment, these seem to do just fine, and are more practical than terminating your splice point with RJ45 plugs and using a coupler.
