They work great in certain circumstances
Got these for an anxious elderly schnauzer who panics when our parrots scream. Unfortunately the parrots scream a lot. I've used a sound app and clocked them at 105 decibels, they're loud. He starts shaking, drooling, clawing at me, and tries to run outside. He does not react to any parrot screams when he's wearing them, even the loud ones; when he's not wearing them, he reacts to the loud screeches like he's just gotten a zap of electricity through him, and starts running away or panicking. So they do a very good job of blocking noise for him.The first time he wore them I was giving him high value treats and after a little while he stopped taking treats, laid down and went to sleep! I gave him high value treats when he had them on for the first week or so. They do seem to be a little uncomfortable for him - we've had to experiment with different ways to deal with his ears, where to fold them because they do get smushed, but he got used to them quickly.Unfortunately he can't live in these all the time, and if he's up and active he just shakes off and they fall underneath his chin. But we're using them every evening for tv watching time, and every morning before we get up. TV watching time he'd settle in with me, but then the birds would scream and he'd jolt up and run away or panic; now he just goes to sleep. Mornings he'd start climbing on me, shaking and drooling, as soon as the birds woke up and started making noise; now I put them on him and he just goes back to sleep until it's time to get up. It's fantastic for both of us.For dogs whose noise issues don't happen all day long, they're probably more useful. For us it's still made a huge difference in quality of life for the times he's not running around and can wear them.

does help
My dog is very fearful of thunderstorms. I bought 3 things to help her: a calming shirt, earmuffs and a mask. Yes she is that fearful. I put the earmuffs on last- if the other two aren't enough. I sit next to her or she will panic with the mask and earmuffs on. But when I am sitting with her and she has all of her gear on she lays down and is calm. She stops panting, trembling, running frantically, whining and peeing. She doesn't try to get the muffs off during these times. If the storm is particularly long I will put her in her kennel for a while. She will just lay down. She does whine every now and then. I just go sit with her for a minute and she relaxes. Once the storm is over I remove the earmuffs. My only complaint is that they make her ears extremely hot. I don't think I could keep them on her for too long. So far when I have used them it has been an hour at the most. It definitely has helped. I wouldn't leave them on her if I wasn't home though. I bought the large pink earmuffs- they fit my 50-55lbs standard schnauzer.

For my 7lb Chihuahua
I would give these headphones 4.5 stars if that was an option. They are a lot like human headphones, and I believe they will work well when taking our dog to the race track. My only complaint is that they do slide around, and if you adjust them to fit tighter, you’ll worry they are choking your dog. They do have two sliding adjusters on the top and one on the bottom. Overall, they are the best option I’ve used for him.

Overall pretty nice
I would say the fit is pretty nice. I use this for my service dog during school and occasionally at home. The noise cancellation works amazingly. It blocks a ton of noise and has worked for us in marching band, on the bus, and around the vacuum cleaner. You can feel the noise cancellation when you hold it up to your ear, so overall, job well done on that. I will say she doesn't particularly like them, but that is to be expected with most human-like things I out on her. The only things “wrong” with these are that they will slide off if she shakes, and there's this little foam piece that comes out of the ear hole. It doesn't seem to bother her, though.

Absolutely Amazing!
First, my experience! My service dog was a rescue pit bull who already had his ears cropped. I was afraid that he wouldn't be able to filter loud noises without his flappy flaps. These ear muffs worked great! I've taken him to the drag races (see picture) with some 1000+ hp cars and he did fantastic (minus the 3000hp run, but that's not the ear muff so much as the ground vibration). I can't for sure say if he enjoys wearing them, but I did pull them off on some of the "not so loud cars" and he was calmer with them on.He's also worn them at weddings when the dance floors opened and without these, we would of had to leave due to the noise. Again, tried with and without and he prefers with!Prep time! As with anything new, you'll need to treat/reward and work with them and your pup. I adjusted these as best I could without actually putting them on my pup. When you're ready to introduce them to your pup, take your time! Show the ear muffs, give a treat. Let them sniff the ear muffs, give a treat. Set them on their head I. The general area, give a treat. You get the idea! Lastly, let the chin part dangle and stick your hand through the loop with a treat. Get your pup to take the treat closer and closer to the ear muffs. Next, place the ear muffs, without forcing them, on your pup and treat your pup with them on. Immediately take them off and treat again. Do this a few times! Finally, you should be able to put them on and start to adjust the straps to make (what we can only guess) the ear muffs comfortable. I made mine so that it's snug enough to hold them on but not so much that the chin strap chocked my little guy. He has a lot of neck skin so I just had to keep at it. **remember to treat during this**. Then, walk your pup around the house treating and encouraging! Now your ready for loud fun times! Good luck!!!

Too funny
Got these for my doggeee so he wouldn't freak out with the storms and fireworks, they work I would say, not as great as everyone saying they did in the reviews tho, u can definitely still hear thunder. It does calm him down a bit tho, so win win I guess.

Espectacular, funciona
The media could not be loaded.

The media could not be loaded. Wirkt also, was will man mehr :-)
