The Middle: Season 4

The Middle is just the beginning...
What can I say? I love this show. I don't have a bad word to say about it. I have to admit that I had heard of this show but just thought it was some dumb show. Boy was I wrong!!! So, I started watching it in its fifth season. I later learned of the reruns and tuned in to catch what I had missed. I loved it so much that I bought it.This is a family show about your run of the mill dysfunctional family. It reminds me so much of my family growing up. I didn't have one of those perfect families you see on other shows. We were poor, we had mismatched chairs, we missed the bus, my Dad got laid off, we fought and we loved. That's what this show is about. Yes, there is dysfunction but there is love. Each episode is narrated by the Mom (Patricia Heaton),a Bachelor loving, good Mom who makes her share of mistakes, as she tells what the latest issue is. There is also her husband, Mike, a construction company worker who would rather watch t.v. than deal with family matters, and her three children - Axel (the oldest) who's going through teenage rebellion ; Sue (the middle child) the over- achieving under-achiever ; and Brick (the youngest) a introverted, book loving, self whispering kid. No, that is not a typo. He whispers words to himself. We all have our quirks!!I can only find one thing wrong with this show and that's that it's too short. Each episode is a half hour long which is way too short for me.However, that won't stop me from giving this 5 shiny gold stars!!You can't go wrong with this show!!

Best season of the Middle!
Possibly my favorite season of The Middle. The cast cracks me up, and scenarios they go through this season are hilarious. Mike always cracks me up, regardless of the episode. Frankie is finally out of the dealership (which was getting old), and studying to become a dental assistant (which leads to a hilarious episode where she and Axl commiserate in their misery of studying for a test. And the kids really hit their stride with their storylines. Overall it's a funny show with a lot of heart, and you feel good after watching it. I highly recommend, though I'm a huge fan, so I'm slightly biased.

We love love love this show and HIGLY recomend it to ...
Our entire house LOVES this show!!!! We have NOT EVER missed a episode and will never miss one! Our 9 year old son seriously watches this daily in his room for his tv time before bed. You could seriously go to his room in any given day and check his DVD player and it's a 100% guarantee "The Middle" Will be in that DVD!!!! I have to admit I'm obsessed with the show as well. I have spend a huge fair share these past 2 years in and out of the hospital for weeks on end and I can honestly say that when "the middle"came on that was the only time I felt at home. We love love love this show and HIGLY recomend it to everyone!!!!!

Axl graduates
The Hecks are a very typical family except for the mom and the daughter. How Mike stays is a testament to his strength but Frankie is always saying they are bad parents. When really she is a very lazy parent. And Axl is a typical senior guy that has no time for his family except for his odd little brother Brick...the sister Sue is way out there but she always gets what she wants eventually. She falls in love with any guy that gives her attention...but the writers made a mistake when Axl graduated. There is NO way he would have wanted to take a picture with just him and his mom after what she did about his socks!! Plus he didn't tell his dad what his pajama wearing big coat mom did to him at a party with his friends!! But somehow I am hooked into watching this family everyday!!! Go Hecks!!

Best show on T V
The Middle is one of the most realistic show about ever day family members trying to get through their day. So realistic that we can identify with the characters, their situation, even the duct tape on the swimming pool. It shows what family is all about, and how family members are there for each other when all is said and done. The frustration of parents and children are really and not over done. The acting is superb and the show is funny because we have all been there and done that. Family friendly with no sleazy comedy which proves that funny doesn't have to offend. The episode about the summer of Sue and dad is one of the most poignant and the plot and music at the end is pure genius. I watch every new episode and all the reruns I can get my hands on. Kudos to the writers and actors.

It may be called The Middle, but it's "top drawer" comedy.
I absolutely love this series and it just keeps getting better! It's intelligently written and the story line continues to flow, telling the story of the Heck family. At first, I thought the writers may have been taking cheap shots at those of us who live in the middle states. However, as one continues to watch, it's clear that what happens to the Heck family spans all socio-economic classes.Extremely funny. Touching, yet hilarious stories and characters. I find myself rooting for sweet, mishap plagued, underdog Sue. The entire cast is fabulous. This series is bound to be a classic! I recommend buying all seasons. :)

We love this show!!
My boys and I love this show. We watch it every night!! They are going to be so excited when Season 4 shows up in our mailbox. Seriously, we end each day watching 2 episodes. The Telling and Diaper Incident are my favorite episodes. The Cheerleader is one sons, and all the Halloween episodes are the other sons favorite!! I don't think a day goes by that we don't recite a line from this show. Such a great great great show! Axl is my favorite!! And all of this positive feedback from a person that can't stand Patricia Heaton. I think it's because we think her character on the show is a jerk mom for the most part....so I think that is why I can stomach watching her. I'm so glad season 4 came out faster than season 3 did. Can't wait for 5!!

The Middle lives on in reruns and DVDs!
I love The Middle. It was such an underrated show when on, but such a gem! I can watch episodes now without the commercials. DVD set ordered was shipped out quickly and well-packed for shipment. Happy with purchase.

An Often Overlooked Gem.
I'm an unashamed fan of U.S comedies, going back as far as M*A*S*H, Cheers, The Golden Girls & Frasier, right through to modern day hits such as The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, with many others in-between; and for my money The Middle is one of the most under-rated and most enjoyable of all of them.As good as Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn are in playing the over-stretched working class parents trying to make it to the next pay check without going under (and without having to finally pay to fix the washing machine), it's the kids who make this show work so well for me. Charlie McDermott and Atticus Shaffer are wonderful as Axl and Brick, while Eden Sher plays Sue with such boundless energy and wide-eyed enthusiasm that I can't understand why at least one best-supporting actress Emmy nomination hasn't come her way (The show is completely over-looked every year when awards season comes around).Season Four is packed full of classic episodes, such as "The Hose", "The Smile", "Valentine's Day IV" and "The Graduation" and features great guest appearances by the likes of Brooke Shields ( unrecognisable as Rita Glossner), Brock Ciarlelli (as Brad) and John Gammon (as Darrin). The Middle is a family show and one I whole-heartedly recommend.** Be sure your DVD Player is Region 1 compatible, as this is a U.S release.
