One detail I especially appreciate is the mechanical design of the screw posts. Each jack screw is essentially a double-sided threaded post — one end secures the adapter to the equipment’s serial port, and the other end has internal threading to accept the thumbscrews from the connected cable or another adapter. Because serial is not exactly current technology it can be difficult to tell both what type of cable you need and what type of cable you are buying. Sellers don't know the difference and even if things are properly labeled the terminology and jargon might as well be hieroglyphics at this point. After purchasing the wrong ones, and buying the "right ones" but receiving completely different mislabeled cables, this item allowed me to get my DB9 - DB25 Epson Thermal Printers working. I still don't know exactly which cables I purchased or which I needed, but these fixed the issue regardless.
